Hi Craig,

I too had a dream like that only in mine I got up went to the bathroom, did all the washing and dressing, then went back to my room sat on the bed to put my shoes on and went a bit dreamy. Then to my horror I was sitting there in my nighwear, so had to go through the whole process again.

Seems so pointless, unless the message is that life is a repetition of actions and sometimes rather futile. Never mind just keep on keeping on.

I was camping once and I had a dream that I woke up because there was some scratching noise on the tent fabric. In the dream I got out of the tent to find myself surrounded by people clothed in dark robes with their faces concealed by hoods. Horrible things then happened when they got hold of me.

Then, I woke up in my tent, to the noise of something scratching the tent fabric on the outside.........

It was the most frightened I probably have ever been in my life for a few moments.

Another thing scared me in a similar way.....many years ago.
Where I lived, on a Sunday morning, they used to test an old air raid siren in the 1980's. It was probably from the war, but I think it was to be used as an alert in the event of an impending nuclear war, like a 2 minute warning alarm.

Anyway, one night in the 1980's, a contravertial film was shown about the effects of a nuclear war, showing the devastation from it.

One Sunday morning sometime after this, I awoke to the noise of that siren being tested.....immediately I thought that we only had 2 minutes before a nuclear war started. Bewildered and like a child, I began to cry because I didn't want to die and there wasn't enough time to say goodbye or whatever to everyone that I wanted to.
After a while crying and having resigned myself to just staying put in bed, I began to realise what had happened and that all was alright.

Another weird and very frightening moment in my life...................

Pete

The weirdest dream I have ever had, which I am by the way, still looking for answers to was about four or five years ago. When my mother and I both had the same dream on the same night around the same time, although when she awoke she said she was surrounded by a mist. The dream was quite terrifying, I actually felt myself being stabbed in the stomach, in my dream it was as if I had died, my mother felt the same in her dream but said was taken to hospital. We both were experiencing a traumatic time at that period and wonder if it was to do with that.

So when I really did wake up I was not sure if I was dreaming or not.

I suppose it's a bit like the old Chinese story about the man who dreams of being a butterfly. When he wakes up he's not sure if he's a man dreaming about being a butterfly or a butterfly dreaming about being a man.

What's your weirdest dream? And have you ever had a lucid dream like mine that has challenged your understanding of reality?

Craig
I have a few times Craig! it is such a bizarre feeling isn't it! It takes a while for me to realise it isn't real. I think it is an awareness of what you have to do - your brain kicks in to remind you, but your body just isn't ready yet! My dreams are often vivid and can be very strange. I love to think about them and try to interpret what they mean as I think they do interpret what you are feeling. Sorry if I am stating the obvious!
