UFO contact. How would you react?

Most scientists think that intelligent life is somewhere "out there" and we are planning on sending probes to extra-solar planets in the not too distant future. Is it really all that ridiculous to think that at some point we might be the object of someone else's curiosity? How would you react if intelligent life was located elsewhere? How would it change your views about yourself and your place in the universe?

if we look at the diversity of life just on this planet - from single celled creatures to the many celled structures that inhabit even a small corner , then i feel , it is an act of insularity to assume that in that vast array of the universe(s) there isn't someone or thing "out there"
Who are very probably writing something similar to this on one of their forums!

We can then go a step further. again using our own planet as a guide - the life forms here are all at different stages of evolution - why then shouldn't other planets be so - and here is the bit where the ufo 's come visiting - if these are more evolved why not more advanced - and if advanced then adventurous.

the logic being that if u have invented a vessel capable of flying to the stars and a propulsion system capable of going further than your own moon - why not use it ?

Maybe one day we will have the proof needed to know of their exsistenceuntil then i am a part of the berkly university's seti at home programme "bionic" lol maybe i will be the one who finds the noises we need !

for me personally, it would probably involve some sort of running shreiking in the opposite direction.

seen too many things like signs, V, independance day etc. to warrant any kind of "welcome to our world" speech.

How can anyone be gifted (psychic) and not have had contact with off world beings??

If you are connected, you are connected to the entire cosmos, are you not? I am a Light Being (soul) who is visiting earth for the first time, remembering many other containers I have enjoyed that were not of the human species. I still have contact with my family from "out there". And if anyone believes in angels, one must admit to believing in off-world beings. The possibilities of existence are limitless, if we think outside the box long enough to consider the possibilities and not be so afraid.

If Aliens do pick people up, why is it always weird people that talk like farmers, and have lisps (not that i have a problem with farmers or lisp talkers!! lol)

This the most outrageous, offensive, stupidous thing I have ever heard. Obviously you are on this site to ridicule and don't have a clue what is going on around you...why are you on this site? I don't offend personally, but when such bigoted statements occur it really gets me...hope I misunderstood you and it was just pure sick humor...please 'splain if it was. i'm sure nothing offensive was meant by any of the posts, but a forum such as this is open to everyone, that means every opinion also.

we have been a bit lighthearted in some of our posts previously in this thread (and others), but that is not to say we aren't open minded about anything on here.

obviously, lori, this is something you wholeheartedly believe in, but others might not. every individual on here is as entitled to their opinion as every one else, and a lot of the time, those opinions will be opposite ends of the spectrum.

please don't take it personally if someone thinks something is not true or is actually laughable, it is not intended as a personal offence.

although, perhaps we could have discussed it somewhat more seriously.
