Would you happen to be one of these lot from the badpsychics website who refuse every single bit of evience presented to them? 2b honest, I am not really interested in people who's entire aim is to sst about debunking Mediumship. I woldnt come to your home and tell you your views are rubbish and your ignornat. So please don't do the same 2 me. I have no wish to enter into a debate with you about whom you consider 2b fake or otherwise. Meaning no offence 2u but your views seem some what blinkered, the same cud be said of myself, but I AM HAPPY WITH MY BELIEF IN sPIRITUALISM. It wud do U gud to come to the site as an M+ member and b in receipt of the facts rather than misguided ignorance. But alas ignorance is bliss Thank you |

M+ signifies that person is a member of the chat rooms(see link at bottom). Members attend classes to raise their awareness and abilities psychically and with mediumship, and also may offer readings public chat areas after a period of time
Kind regards Sue

Before the start of sixth sense on freeview, the announcer says 'sixth sense with Colin Fry is an entertainment program'. Why does'nt she say this is sixth sense with Colin Fry passing on messages from dead people if that is what he is actually doing?

It is a legal requirement in some localities. For example - in the state in Australia where I live, mediumship, fortune telling, and use of any tools to do such things, was a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment prior to July 2005. Only 19 months ago!
People were able to do this tho if they made a disclaimer that it was for 'entertainment only'. So even if they really were communicating with spirit - it still had to be classified as "entertainment only". Similar shows make similar statements, not just Sixth Sense.

I'm not splitting hairs here, but if a medium passed on messages from the spirit world on tv, what law would they be breaking? I'm cynical and I think it is in case someone was prosecuted under the fraudulent mediums act they could say we said it was entertainment so you are daft if you believe it.

Well if they had of done it on TV here prior to 19 months ago and not said it was 'entertainment' they would have been breaking Section 13 of the Vagrancy Act which related to Fortune Telling, Witchcraft and the like. What would be daft, would be committing a criminal act in public when you can make a disclaimer, provide the same service, and not get thrown in jail for it. Someone considered fraudulent here can still be charged under a 'Summary Offences Act'.
Better still tho, Why don't you stop making assumptions, and just write to (or call) Sixth Sense, and ask them why they make the disclaimer? It may be because it is broadcast to countries, and states within countries where it is still illegal so they have to do it to fit legalities in all the places that it is aired. But ask them, I am guessing.
