I am new here. But things have been happening to me for along time and then to my son. My mothers house we all say is haunted. Could be just an old house. But we believe. Thing would turn off and on, foot steps, things being moved, and then finding them later. I got older and moved out on my own nothing happend for a few years. And nothing at the house any more either. Moved with my husband and son to a old townhouse. And my son started having night Terrors. He would say the the "Red man" is scaring him. I would say it just a dream. It's okay. It was happening 3-4 times a week. I was a little wooried. I finally started lying with him in bed. And would feel something touch the back of my arm. Turn around and nothing. But still feel like someone was there. Cupboard would left open. All of the cupboard door. Thought the kids were playing around. Keys would always go missing and reapear in the same spot. Cats would sit on my sons dresser and stare at the same spot and meow. Now I have Night terrors to, but usally of animals never of people. We moved to a bigger place, which was mom and dads other house. Old! My son stopped seeing the "Red Man" and I started seeing a man in my room. Was told it's Night Terrors. In this place toys come on by them selves when all the kids are sleeping. I hear sound through the baby moniter. Things dropping. T.V on and off. And now I had to very strange phone calls. The sounds were of someone crompling paper. The hair on my arms stood up. I'm not freaked out. But it's just weird. I feel like someone is watching. Would love to know what someone thinks of this. Could all be in my head. I'm very open to all this. So I could be making it worse for myself. Thinking something is happening, but it could be explained. Wondering if people have ever seen their Spirit Guide. Was told thats what it could be. But have no idea.!!

Good question. I bought my house 5 years ago. The original owners were alive and present at closing. My crazy little Italian friend came over for a house warming party and said she felt a presense and we all laughed at her. Three years later I had a baby, and one of my sisters claims that my experiences were post partum physchosis, the other sisiter was afraid to be in my house for a while. I had folded some clothes and put my dishtowels in the drawer. I seldom leave drawers open, because my mom used to preach to me that I would fall out of bed and hit my head on them, so it's a freaky thing I have. I turned around and my drawer was open and all my folded dishtowels were on the floor. I was confused about it, but I thought, I could have left it open and one of my cats threw them out, not really likely, but Hey whatever. Next, I was changing my baby, and the door to her room opened. We have an old house and the doors do not always shut well, I said, "Come in Kitty," thinking it was one of my cats. When no cat came in I looked into the hall and there was no cat in sight. We have radiant heat, and it was March, so there was no forced air to open the door. The next thing could have been a dream, but I dream vividly and I think I can tell the difference, but it could have been. I had put the baby down in her bassinet and laid down. She started to whimper, I looked over and a lady with long hair in a long white nightgown picked her up and patted her on the back, then put her down. I thought, "oh good, someone's got her, then I jerked realizing that there was no one else but me and my husband. When I sat up and looked, she was sleeping soundly. Is my house haunted? Did my daughter bring it out? Who knows? Whatever it is, it's apparently not malovent. I've not seen a thing since. I told my husband and he said if he saw it we were packing. I'd just like to know that I wasn't crazy. I'd always said if I saw a ghost I'd want a witness. The only other freaky thing I saw in my life with a witness present was the Brown Mountain lights off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and tons of people have seen those. These incidents and one other, and I've been alone left to question my own judgement. And no, I wasn't taking anything stronger than Motrin after the birth of my child, but I was alone 16 hours a day while my husband worked and finished school.

Because you asked for others' thoughts, I'll share some of mine. I have a different slant than the norm, but it may strike a cord with you.

Aperez - My opinion is that we all have angels and spirits with us all the time. The lady with the red hair would be an entity who loves you and your baby - nothing to worry about, and not a ghost; but rather an entity of another dimension.
Sometimes we get messages that we need to think about. Maybe you left the drawer open and one of your ancestors' spirit playfully pulled the dish towels out to remind you to close the drawer just as your mom would have done. That was the message you relayed here - a thought you had of the incident.

The red man may have been someone who lived in the home before you whose presence was quite powerful. Thus you could occasionally catch a replay of a small piece of history from the house's memory in the way you sometimes recall an incident from your past quite clearly.

CIANE...Thank you. I've always thought it might be an angel, but I was raised Southern Baptist, and we live in the real world and do not see ghosts and angels. So I thought I was crazy...How did you know she had red hair? I just said she had long hair, but you're right, it was red.

Where my son was seeing the "Red Man", we haven't lived there in almost 3 years. But the man I'm seeing feels like its the same. I have never really seen him clearly. I have Night Terrors. I feel this being gives me the night terror. Wow, sorry this is hard to explain.
Last night I woke up to not being able to move. I tried to yell out to anyone. And my husband could't hear me. He was watching T.V in the other room. It had to of been at least 5 min. And felt like someone was touching my legs. I was paralized. It was hard to breathe. Then it was gone and I rolled over like nothing happened. My husband came in and finally heard me yelling to him. It was the first night in 5 days that I tried to sleep in my own bed. I have been to scared. It's between 11:00 and 12:36 at night that I start to get scared. That's when I hear people trying to talk to me or foot steps. Or something just lightly touching me. After it happens I get up and go sleep in my sons bedroom. I want to sleep in my own bed. I feel like I'm going crazy. If there is a spirit or ghost or what ever you call it in my house I don't think it's trying to hurt me, I don't know anymore. Could someone please shine some light on this. I'm lost with this!

Last night was very hot, so it was hard for any of us to sleep. So I took my daughter into bed which I usally don't do. And we were lying there, it was aroung 1:30 in the morning. And I smiled at her, and she sat up and started waving and saying hi, to something at the end of my bed. She started to giggle. I knew something was there, cause a calm feeling rush over me. When I usally sence something in my room, I'm usally very scared. And this time I wasen't . My daughter said bye-bye lied back down and gave me a kiss. And I went to sleep. We both had a great sleep.
I don't know if there is two different spirits in my house. Because one causes me fear, and the other on was calming. Anyone explain this to me. I don't know what to do or even say to these spirits.
For the past two weeks I have been unable to sleep in my room, except for last night. I'm confused. And there is no way my husband will bring in a meduim or ghost expert.

Why not ask your husband just to see his response to such a thing, maybe he's felt the same spirits but they just havent bothered him as much as they bother you.
Try gettin a medium and see how things go.

i feel like if there was a ghost in someones house you would just know it by a feeling...you would be able to sense its existance

well you really can"t tell if you have a ghost>the way you know is if things like move by themselves break on there own ink.

I hear that teenagers can act as batteries for spirit. They have a lot of hormones rushing around, probably a lot of electrical (brain) activity. It's not you and its not your fault. When you grow older, these experiences will lessen and may disappear. I find that spiritual ability if latent, can be developed if we want, although there might be some "leak through". You can say "no" to it if you want to - spirit doesn't want to make you unhappy. At least until you're ready. Don't worry.
