Is what she says in her books true? Why or why not.
Any other books you would recommend, why? |

What do you mean, is it true?
I've read one of her books, I can't remember which one but I'll find out if you're interested. What bothered me slightly is that she's Catholic and her beliefs are sort of coloured by her Catholic upbringing, but of course that won't be a problem to most people. What I really liked about her book was the information about life purpose, and in the back of the book she detailed around 45 different types of life paths which I found a really fascinating read. |

I used to be a big Sylvia Browne fan and have read a lot of her books. However, in the last couple of years it seems to me like she's losing it. I went to a psychic that was writing a book and being published by the same publishing house as Sylvia. The psychic said that SB uses a ghost writer and that is how she is able to get so many books published all the time. It seems like every couple of months there is a new book.
While I know that no psychic is 100% accurate, a lot of people lost faith in her when she said that some kid that was missing in the US was dead, and then the kid showed up. Love to hear other people's thoughts on SB. |

I've only read ONE of her books, Soul Signs. That for me was a pretty good book. I must admit though...just looking at her, she seems to...I don't know. Just looking at her, I don't trust her. There's something about her that I just don't trust.
I also have to admit, that even hearing her name makes me get all defensive. I'm not fully sure as to why though. I did much enjoy her book...however, I haven't read one since. I would recommend that book to anyone curious as to who they may truly be. I guess part of the whole thing against her...is that I have this friend who believes what she reads...and when it comes to the psychedelic world...I'm pretty sure that she only reads Sylvia Browne, seeing as though she referenced her. About something that I disagree with...I think she's easily influenced by what she reads...and doesn't hold her own opinion to the matter. But that might just be me. I'd much rather read from a variety of authors. On a variety of different things aside from just ONE author and forming the same opinion as that person. Sorry, but when I get told that I have to read "around" on something because SOMEONE said contrary to what I think...that's when I really, really wonder about the author.

Hi Fire:
I agree, I tend to rather read several (actually many) different authors.Having said that, I don't read any of Sylvia Browne's books. I have seen her on various television shows and I question quite a bit of what she says. Much of her beliefs don't tend to resonate with me. I've read many books that I may not agree with everything that is written, but I believe that we should question what we read and if something we read doesn't sit right with us we can either dismiss it, or research it further. Sometimes, if for nothing else, a book can be just simply inspirational. Unfortunately, there's just as many junk books out there as good ones, therefore I try not to make any single author's words to be gospel so to speak. |

I've read all of her books and I like them better than her TV shows or some other of her things. The latest ones about the life of Jesus and Mary and Mary Magdalene are very interesting. I do have a problem with someone predicting the futture which she does. Especially about such things as who someone is going to marry. I venture to say that the future, influenced by so many and every detail of every action can never be foretold.
I also don't have a problem with a spiritual world that includes faith. God is present in every religion and I don't think that there is a contradiction. |
