Hi everyone

After reading a number of posts this one probably seems a little insignificant, but I wanted to share with a community who would actually understand :P

My family and I moved into our new house in February. In the beginning, when I was in bed and all the lights were out, I'd hear noises in my room. It was as if somebody was fiddling with my belongings. Although it freaked me out, I just put some music in my ears and put it down to the fact that I was still getting used to all the noises of the house. Sometimes I also get the feeling that someone is here. That I'm being watched or something, that again could just be a little paranoia though.

Anyway, things settled down as expected, until Monday morning. I didn't have any music on, my fan wasn't on, and it wasn't windy outside. In fact everything was pretty still and serene. I was sitting at my desk with my laptop, which is just below my window in my room. It's quite a large window, with horizontal venetian blinds that don't budge unless you pretty much yank at the string on the side. On this morning, I was off in my own little world when there was a 'whoosh' and the blinds slammed shut and rattled back and foreward for a moment. Stunned, I just stood up and opened them slowly. I said, 'hello?' after a while and then walked out of my room.

After that I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. From the bathroom I can see into my bedroom. The door in my room is positioned in such a way, that the wind never catches it. It's difficult to describe, but I've had plenty of experience with doors and wind (living in a tropical climate doors always slam shut because houses are so breezy and well ventilated). Anyway, since the moment I moved in, my door has never moved. Maybe a tiny bit in stormy weather. As I stood in the bathroom (moments after the blinds incident) the door started moving slowly. As it was doing so it was creaking, but moving at an even pace. It made the same noise it does when I close the door slowly and deliberately. So it slowly moved and then just as it touched the door frame - slammed shut.

The other day I walked through the lounge room and felt something very cold. I looked back to see if the airconditioner had been turned on, and if I'd just walked through the path of cold air. It was off, and so was the fan. I walked back to the same spot and it was hot.

I also have a little shelf thing underneath my desk (you know, that a keyboard is supposed to go on?) and it had two empty packets of popcorn on it. Last night as I was doing my uni work one packet slid out on to my lap. Although they are light plastic packets, it was under a book, so I don't know how that happened. When I came back hours later, it happened again with the other packet.

What do you guys think of this? Could something be living here with me, or am I being paranoid?

In my last house weird things happened too, like the shower turning on in the middle of the night, as with the television.

It's a little scary, terribly intriguiging...but also makes me feel a paranoid over-reacter.

So yeah, any thoughts? it's most appreciated

hi mannix i had an experience like that with a wind chime severeal years ago.i lived in an apartment and had a wind chime in the hallway,one morning we were sitting in bed having a cup of tea and talking .the bedroom door was open but all the windows were closed there was no air vents in the hall either.all of a sudden the wind chime went crazy,we stood there and watched it move for a minute and then it just stopped,it never happened again.the same thing happened in my sisters house a few years before that in front of 6 people.my appartment was definitley haunted and my sisters house is too,needless to say wind chimes are out of favour with my family now!! xx maureen :smt105

Hmmm after I did that post, I did a few other things and then went to bed. I think I sort of freaked myself out a bit, so when I was in bed I just listened to music in my mp3 player for ages. It made me feel very calm and happy. As I was falling asleep I took the earphones out, and proceeded to sleep. I put one leg over my doona because it was a little hot. After a few moments it felt as though somebody placed their hand on my upper thigh! My immediate response was to jump back underneath the covers, and then after my heartbeat went back to normal...fell asleep.

Now tonight, my little sister just went to the toilet before she went to bed. She came out and told me that while she was in there, the toilet roll completely unravelled, as though somebody was pulling it. It didn't stop until all the toilet paper was on the ground.

Now I'm really starting to get a little scared, am I right to be?

Also, I read in another post that spirit communication is a mind-to-mind thing. By merely thinking about these occurances, could it be actually inviting whatever is here, so continue to make his or her presence known?

Spirit need very little invitation - A simple mention of "Is anyone there" Is enough to open the floodgates believe me. Do u feel that the presence has a horrible or nice intention? Say out loud or in your mind that only those souls that are of the light are welcome here within my house & within my space - cover your house in golden light & clapping your hands in every corner of the room can break up negative pockets of energy. Call upon the angels and give clear intentions that you want any unwelcome guests 2 leave In the name of our father.

i think you should do what nice suggested,i always have holy water in the house too i find sprinkling it around helps me feel a bit better.i agree that sometimes things can escalate when you start to notice them especially if you talk about the happenings at home.its almost as if the spirit is saying great he can see or hear me.my neice and her boyfriend had a problem in their house for a while and i told them not to talk about what had happened while they were in the house,only to discuss it away from the property.this seemed to work so give it a try and tell your sister to ignore it,i know its hard.im having some problems in my own house at the moment but im the only one who has noticed it and i havent mentioned it to anyone yet so hopefully it will work for both of us !!! keep me updated and im always willing to help if i can xx maureen

nice, that's an interesting point, thanks for telling me. I'm not exactly sure of the intention. The little things like the blinds or door closing didn't instil a whole lot of fear in me, but I did feel a bit of a negative energy when I was in bed. But then again, anything strange happening in the dark instills a negative fear doesn't it? I'll have to see how that goes.

I have another question actually...

What if it isn't just this house...what if this is my fault? This subject has always i suppose, intrigued me. Could my thoughts have invited spirits? It's just that I can remember a few little things here and there... in high school last year, whilst talking to a teacher in the office, someone tapped me on my shoulder (the office was basically empty at the time). At my old house I always thought that there was someone behind me when I sat at my desk. In this same room, just as I was falling asleep I'd hear a voice, but I could never figure out what it was saying. It would be kind of loud, but it would only last a few seconds. And as I said, at this old house we also had problems with things turning on in the middle of the night (shower, television etc). Now all this is happening....is it coincidence?

It s hard 2 say if any of it is connected, but it sounds like you are sensitive 2 spirit & the important thing is 2 nip it in the bud be 4 It gets any worse. I have dozens of spirits in my house all the time, but there is no funny business. Still spirit dont need 2 get my attention as they know I can communicate.

In your case it maybe someone playing up just 4 attention, It is not wise 2 be rude in anyway when trying 2 move spirit on but that doesnt mean u have 2 put up with it either. It is true 2 say the more aware u become the more spirits will be drawn 2 you, just try & be sensible about It without It making u go crazy - theres nothing that spooky about it really - like u said when its dark it can feel worse than it really is - U can surround yourself & family in a golden egg as that will help 2

Hi mann,

Spirit communication cannot be put down to anyone's 'fault'. It is true however that some people are more open to experiences and may be more aware. Have you ever thought about developing your ability at all? You could try a spiritualist church for a development group or come online here to the classes. My philosophy about attracting negative energy is that like attracts like. So if you stay positive and ask for the highest that is what you will get. I do not live with a philosophy of fear as that is just the ego playing its games.

Thanks for the replies. I did what nice suggested, and since then I have had no disturbances. Occassionally I turn around when I'm at my desk thinking someone is in the corner, but nothing else has happened. In fact, as I lie in bed, going to sleep, the energy I felt that was scaring me doesn't seem to be there anymore.
