the thing about shows like most haunted they try and put it across as every haunted house you will find a spirit showing up every night but in true fact spirits dont always come out every night and play but in most haunted every time they goto a haunted location oh behold they find something but im not a fan of the show to much acting as far as im concerned and the mediums have to much knowledge prior to going to the properties something they deny but its been proven they do so its a shame but its all about sponsers and money and that show relies on that

Re the point about "Fake Mediums" etc.....I understand genuine mediums will understandably be upset & feel it belittles and reduces ALL meduims standing every time a "fake" is exposed....
But I recall a Professor in a TV Ghost show I saw who made a very valid point re "fakes", he said : "We know that "Fake" or counterfeit money does exist....but the fact that "Fake money" exists does of course NOT mean that ALL "money" is "fake" or counterfeit....does it ? TV Shows,as stated above, are "Entertainment".....and to make money...especially for the producers of the show... The show referred to above I watch each time it is on....Hoping that one week a real "Ghost" will pop up...and SCARE the hell out of em all....! I have suspected that show from the start...but think a few of the people are sincere...however I do suspect at least two people do "create" the phenomina....throw things, cause "knocks" etc... One week a "Ghost" will suddenly appear....and get it's revenge !!! (Ho! Ho!)  |

Hello everyone,
Please let me introduce myself my name is Pete and I have recently joined this website after being interested in the subject of the paranormal for quite a long time. I have never been totally convinced with the stories that I have witnessed both on screen, in books and personal accounts although I must say that I have an open mind and I do not wish to state that anyone is telling lies these accounts are true as the individual sees them. I actually find the subject very interesting and I am ready to be convinced. I have watched variuos tv documentaries and for some years, I have watched Most Haunted and I have to say that although the program is entertaining in my opinion it is based on hysteria rather than a true and honest investigation into the subject. As you will probably know by now, I am a realist and and I believe that there is a natural and/or scientific answer to any paranormal experience. |

There's a show here made in Canada (not sure if anyone has ever heard of it) called Rescue Mediums which features two well-known British psychics.
The idea of the program is two psychics go to 'regular people's' homes to help clear them of any known spirit energies. Then they do research on the property after they do their readings, and try to confirm any information they have received. On the show's website, there is a section where you can send in accounts of things that have happened to you, perhaps in your home. I wrote into them just for sheer interest, and ended up hearing back from them, twice asking if they could set up an appointment as they were interested in perhaps featuring our home on one of their upcoming episodes. Unfortunately, as we rent the house we're in, I had to decline. But it made me think...if this show is a 'fake' then why would they be interested in basing their episodes on regular people's accounts (like myself) instead of strictly relying on actors? I am sure it is not the same for all programs, and some are truly horrible to watch, but some I have to think really may be 'legit'. |

most TV shows are so fake... as a lot of people said...people do it for business, the money....
only few poeple are serious about it and i've only seen a couple that are completely (SP) serious about it... it is a shame that people have to fake GOOD TV shows when these things that are being faked are more then real.

It is just purely entertainment and can't be considered as paranormal investigations. They are there to sell advertising. Nothing else.

I have to agree with Pete. Most Haunted is so far fetched, with the presenters screaming their heads off and the medium (a gent from yorkshire i believe) totally overacting! I no longer bother to watch this trash. I know what I believe, I have had too many experiences of my own, (most fairly trivial i must admit), not to be convinced that spirit is alive and kicking [errr u know what I mean

I feel this "person" who obviously researched the history before hand has given us genuine mediums a bad name,
did anyone watch watchdog last week, they exposed a scamming medium who was frankly dreadful with predictions that were so general. The point is this has damaged us badly and people tar us with the same brush. Word of a bad experience or bad "psychic" travels far quicker than word of a good one. Televising this makes it thousand fold. There will always be scammers in every profession and walk of life, its just sad that because our line of work is not something others can physically its harder to repair the damage. I do however believe that these hyped up programs have enhanced the publics interest in spirit, and it seems to be at an all time high at the moment or is it just me feeling this?
