That was really interesting majjic, I too have woken up sometimes after having paralysis to have strange markings on my body. Either small red pimples or pink patches. At the moment, I have small pimples which look like star constellations all over my stomach, which my hubbie thinks looks gross!!
Sometimes whilst having paralysis, I would sense something at the side of my bed, which didn't seem like a human presence, more alien/E.T. I used to get really scared, but im not so bad these days. ( Still a bit tho! ) Then another time I woke during the night and saw floating above me what looked like a man-beast! People I have told this think im completelt nuts, maybe I was just coming out of a dream I dont know but I know what I saw really freaked me out! Last night really scared me tho, I was just nodding off eyes closed, but somehow felt as if my eyes were open also. Suddenely outside appeared pitch black, no street lamps on, nothing, then the bedroom pitch black. Almost as if the planet had been swallowed by a black hole. I felt my body was in 2 different places! I quickly opened my eyes and everything was normal. Not sure if this was an OBE or blackout/flashback?!?

I sometimes experiences scary or bizarre sensations while in that state. Things like circus music, the soud of a roaring wind or laughter made me worry. The thing is when your body reaches a deep state of relaxation your brain thinks you are asleep and starts the dreaming process while you are still awake. Some other people have visual allucinations, like shadows, or people in the room. Fortunately the modern medicine knows help to this kind of sleeping disorder, so you should talk about it with a doctor. You are not insane in just happens with lots of people. Hope it?s helpful. Take care.

I've never had an OBE so can't compare the two, and quite honestly I can't see the connection. I have however experienced sleep paralyis (I made a posting about one case on another thread) and for me the worst thing was not being able to get any sound out of my throat other than a croak when trying to call out.
Sometimes I woke out of a dream and was unable to move, another time I'd hardly fallen asleep, (wasn't even aware I was asleep) and one time I woke out of a sleep hearing the front door close downstairs then somebody walking up the stairs. I was terrified and tried to call out to my husband who was lying next to me but nothing more than a slight screetch came out of my throat, I realised that I couldn't move a muscle; then it was as if somebody came through the bedroom door and next thing I felt a hand on mine under the quilt which calmed me and I immediately came out of the paralysis. I recalled hearing the church clock strike 6.0 am during this episode and when I looked at the bedside clock it said 6.02 so my conscious mind was awake during this time! |
