Arrow Sleep paralysis and OBE's?? Please help...

Does anyone have sleep paralysis or narcolepsy?

Sleep paralysis is a condition where the mind is awake but the mechanism that connects you mind to your slow-witch muscles is not functioning, so you can't move. But the fast twitch muscles still work so the eyes can open and move around.

I experienced my first sleep paralysis episode when I was sixteen and it scared me so much. Since I have had many more episodes and have learned to control the fear more. I read somewhere that while in sleep paralysis it is easier to have an out of body experience.

I tried once and I tried lifting my leg. I saw what looked like my leg lifting out of my leg......a spirit and a physical leg. Then I tried spinning out of my body and in a split second I felt like I had traveled a million miles but I never saw anything I just had a sensation of travel like I was stretching a rubber-band between my body and my spirit body and it whipped me back fast.

Have you or anyone you known had experiences with sleep paralysis? What happened as a result?

Is there anything I should be careful about if I do try to have a OBE while in a state of sleep paralysis? What are the benefits of OBE's? What is the good in it? I don't want to be messing with something that is dangerous.

I remember the rubber feeling.. not too pleasant for me at least... You should try OBE, nothing bad can happen, but take care what you expect, fears can "materialize" and you don't want that, try to see things as objective you can.. I remember my friend telling me after I realised I had obe: do not be scared if you see strange creatures pulling your legs and touching you, they are not doing any harm (they just can't), they are curious. Never got to see any entities yet, because it is hard for me to project and it lasts too short. Read everything you can, like Robert Bruce - Astral dynamics... Robert Monroe, William Bulham.. listen on youtube to coast to coast interviews with those guys, and you'll have your start in this..
Btw, sleep paralysis is indeed what you need there, but I never had.. I think

Wow....

I don't think I've ever experienced full blown sleep paralysis (well I have obviously but have been asleep during it!). The only times I think I;ve been close are when I'm practically alseep but suddenly feel as though my entire body jumps. This doesn't happen all that often but it's always kind of scary when it happens, like an involuntary motion.

I have read that OOBEs are safe, and the scariest aspect is the feeling like there's something malignant in the room with you. But as shell1313 says, if you stick through it then it fades quickly and you're able to have your experience usually.

There are a couple interesting videos on youtube if you search the user Bedeekin (hope this is allowed to mention, lol). He says in his videos that the scary feeling is usually just your own fears making things seem worse than they are. I'd say to do as much research as you can and then you'll be able to pinpoint where it correlates with your own experience and learn from there.

Be sure to tell us about what happens, too!!
Good luck

Shell1313, yep it can be scary. I felt like I couldn't breathe in the beginning too. I think that is just because when I am sleeping I breathe unconsciously and then when I wake I try to breathe heavier and when I realize I can't control it its freaky! I felt like I was gonna die too but it's all in the mind. It takes a lot of conscious effort not to be scared but when I tell me self "Its ok........just relax" I get a very strong connection to energy and can see things I don't see in my normal state. You should try to relax your mind when it happens....its hard I know but its much better than fear. I hope that I can conquer my fear enough and be able to do to experience a good OBE. Thanks for your reply!

Qoute of LittleWing
"I have read that OOBEs are safe, and the scariest aspect is the feeling like there's something malignant in the room with you."

The one time I think I might have had an OBE was when I stayed at my fathers house for a week. He lives and works in Germany at an old Nazi Training Base that is now an American Military Base.....anyways, one night after I fell asleep, I woke up five minutes later. When I opened my eyes, next to my bed I saw a dog and then I looked down at my legs and there was a dark shadow figure with his arms wrapped around my legs. I tried not to be afraid but I definately had some fear.....well the next thing I know I am out in the hallway trying desperatelty to turn on the lights but when I went to push the switch up it didn't move. Then I realized why......becuase my body is still in bed! Then I was right back in bed and fell right to sleep.

I wonder if that could have been the malignant thing you mentioned. If its always like that I don't know if that is something I can handle. Is there a way to get rid of those shadows?

Anyways I will check those videos out.Thx! I will definately try to have OBE and respond in this post with my results.

It is my pleasure, AlexisNeptune! Do not be afraind, nothing bad can happen, if something is wrong, you can make it go away, but it shouldn't be there unless you alow it to be or you create it. maybe Nat has more info on how to make those things go away.
Many many thanks to LittleWing for that Bedeekin on youtube, really really helpfull!

rofl geiger, .. I have been meaning to input to this thread but have had some pc problems and other stuff eating my time lately. Funny tho, whilst reading the latest input I had a feeling I had been mentioned and scrolling down see that I have lol. Anyway, too busy right now, but will take some time later to read and digest properly and throw something in that will hopefully be helpful.

I would have to agree that SP can be a good catalyst state for oobe's. For myself, if I try to move whilst in SP coming out of body is generally what happens instead of the paralysis breaking.

Personally I like that whole numbed out can't move feeling that you get with SP (and sometimes with some spirit work) so don't mind it at all. Initially tho it used to spin me out, but oobe's were tripping me more so I would just stay still and wear it in preference to accidentally coming oob. I guess having spent countless hours aware of it I just got used to it and eventually learned to like it. That said, I don't tend to conjure up fearful imagery to trip myself out with so I suppose that helps, ...but is also a point to remember, that we ourselves can create imagery! More so in the SP state than in the oob one tho – in my experience anyway.

As for making things 'go away', … if conjured from your own mind, then you can also learn to control your thoughts and alter things, … it takes focus tho and not letting your emotions over ride your reaction. If it is another spirit you wish to go away, then simply demand that they do, … and if it helps make you feel better, then by all means call on guides, loving spirits, healing energies, anything that does it for you, to reinforce your well being in your own thoughts. Remember tho, this all goes on with our minds and spiritual bodies – no harm will come to your physical body.

I don't think there is anything to fear about having an obe other than fear itself, … coz it is this that will somewhat shape the experience. As for benefits, well it depends on your take on things, but sometimes it can be a very profound experience. I definitely have some obe's in my top handful of most awesome experiences anyway.

According to spirit we all have obe's just most of us are usually not conscious of it, so it is not messing with anything if you simply train yourself to do it whilst aware.
