How do you know if there are spirits around you?

Spirit communication is a mind to mind thing. Even if you are able to see them objectively (as if they are in the room with you) it is still only your mind showing you this as such. If you want to develop your psychic ability then I would suggest you find a development circle at your local spiritualist church or if not there are classes on here in the chat rooms. It is something you have to be committed to though as for some the development may take many months or even years.

Is it true then what I have read in books that it requires Telepathy to be able to communicate with them. In James Van Praagh books he says that spirits know exactly what is going on in your mind and it is crystal clear to them on the other side. Thanks.

The 'mind to mind' Amp spoke of is the mental telepathy.

Spirit don't tend to hang around 24/7 reading our thoughts word for word, ... they do have lives of their own ya know lol, .... but they will know of situations around us, and if we direct a thought to them, then yes, they can recieve it.

From a personal experience - you either get a feeling there is someone stood behind you but when you look round there isn't and by telepathic message, you might just feel that there is someone looking after you, its a feeling you get from within and it is nice to have and to know.

If your house was haunted it would maybe feel cold and strange noises and doors would maybe close and open, taps on and off lights flickering, a number of different strange things could happen, there might be a feeling about the house as well.

Best thing to do is to get it blessed that way the feeling would and go and it will be comfortable again - I have something in my house but it is friendly i am still trying to find out who it is.

honestly i think alot of knowing just comes from gut feeling, like feeling like some1 is watching u even when theres no1 else in the room, alot of physics/mediums use theyre feelings to sence if theres something in the house and alot of ppl believe we can all do that just most of us block it out, out of fear or sceptisim or for whatever other reasons... so just go with ur gut, if u truly believe there is something in ur house... start investigating, snap some shots, set up evp, do whatever u can do and see what happens

i agree with everyone about feeling or sensing that there is someone around you.i often hear a high pitched noise as well when they first enter the room if you like,it almost makes their presence more solid or dense even though most of the time i cant actually see anything x caileach

When I put my TV on in my bedroom it sometimes clicks but every night when I switch it off I say good night aloud and then a little bit later it will click and then I say Are you my friend and it clicks again and also in my bathroom when I am in the bath - I could be in the bath for 5 to 10 minutes when I hear a loud click hello.

I am going to try and find out who it is.

that sounds like my old house ,i never heard clicking noises since i moved out but my sister in law still lives in the estate and she still hears it.she went on holiday and her father stayed there while she was away and heard the clicking he was terrified,and he lives alone and is not a nervous person. x :smt105

Its nothing to be scared about. I am not scared at all as I have the gift and understand what they are and they are friendly, I am going to find out the history of this house at my library I am sure there is a connection. I am in my box bedroom/office and my printer is switched off yet it still clicks now and again just to say hello. I was meant to live in this house I only found out I had my gift in 2007 but have been here nearly 10 years and it would be very hard to leave the house doesnt want me to go at all. Every day I say I love my home and I feel it loves me back.
