My uncle's wife used to dabble in those oija board things. He was always telling his wife that they were hogwash.
Apparently, his wife once told him that she had received a warning from the board. She interpreted the message to mean that something bad was going to happen to her husband...& it did. He was bitten by a Funnel Web spider while he was on the toilet (an "outside" loo). Apparently, it was a horrible scene because he came streaking out of the toilet screaming & yelling. In case you don't know, Funnel Webs are deadly & since they lived on a farm, help did not arrive soon enough & he passed away. I even believe in what these boards have to say now. I was a non-believer before. |

Gotta say I've only heard things about this. I'd be interested to try, but from what I've read here it's not for untrained newbies. If you think it's safe, where could I buy one from? Would it be pre-cleansed, or would I have to do that myself?

A few years ago a work colleague of mine told me of an experience he had a teenager with a Ouija Board. [He assured me it was a true story.] He and some friends were staying in a caravan - can't recall where. Anyway, one night they decided to experiment. A word was 'spelt out' on the board, which appeared to make no sense. A short while later the caravan was rocked by violent bangs. It was being attacked by an out of control horse! One of the group bravely went to get help. And the animal was brought under control. Apparently, when they enquired, what had been formed by the letters was the horse's name... .
A salutory lesson I think.... |

There are those Mediums who still do... Safely and trained in the use of them, however I would'nt myself.
I believe that we don't need them anymore as we have grown well past the need to have such a quick fix connection to Spirit. Our vibrations have grown since the first knock on the table... One for Yes, two for No. There are far safer and more convenient ways to work now... |

I see this subject over and over and it kinda makes me crazy.
A Ouija board can only do what you allow it to do. Most people who use them are very limited in their knowledge of spirits and the paranormal. The only reason I can think a true psychic would use one, is to drag their live subjects in and create energy.. The problem occurs when a certain amount of these unaware folks have a bit of psychic abuility and can loosen their subconcious minds without realizing it. The first thing said at most Ouija Board events is "KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND LET THE SPIRITS IN", or some such. Whatever entity (and in some rare cases links they make with the person next to them) comes through, this sort of person is left wide open and unaware of the huge gap they have left open and what energy can fall into it. Evil exsists and so do dubious spirits with bad attitudes. If a person opens a huge gap in their mind and allows "whatever" to come inside, well, that is where the problem lies. Quija Boards are great, if you know how to handle them. If you aren't experienced with the paranormal I actually think you could be getting yourself into trouble, and it is best to leave them alone.

In general I don't think the OUIJA board actually works (though I admit there are some cases which baffle me). Like most scientists I think it caused by a subconscious behaviour which we refer to as the ideomotor action. Try using it with your eyes closed and you'll never/or hardly ever even get a proper word. As for those who think they are dangerous if they were I think the guys at government would realise this and therefore would not allow it to get sold to children in Toy SHops.`

NEVER use a ouija board - there are better methods. There are lower vibrational energies out there just waiting to channel through innocents that open up.
Just put 'ouija board' into youtube search box and read all the horror stories. I believe the sort of spirits that hang around ouija boards are murderers, rapists and mischevious negative ones who will feed off your energy or attach themselves to you, spirits that have not crossed over. Unbelievable that they are sold as toys. Love and light x |

I'm with Crystalmoon13, Jemma1 and iamannie on this one to a large extent in that I would never use a Ouija board myself. Have thought about it, but decided it's a "no", because I'm too sensitive and don't want stuff hanging around me.
Whilst the Ouja is nothing more than cardboard and plastic or wood and can ostensibly sold as a toy, its intended use is as tool or mechanism for focus and opening gateways for communication. It's the way that is used that is of significance and that should be with very careful opening and closing.....not my cup of tea at all. My personal opinion is that it's like having a house party and leaving all of the doors open: Anyone or anything can walk in and can pretend to be whoever they wish. As another analogy, I'm sure that not many people would use the internet without a firewall. Like Crystalmoon13 says, there are far better methods............I'm sure some of the lovely people on this site can help, especially in the M+ chatrooms. |
