Hi, My first post.
I never really been with the UFO thing but im really intrested now. I was sat outside with my friend and we looked in the sky and saw 3 orange lights in the sky following each other and kind of formed a triangle and then just dissapered. I really thought it was strange and would like to find out more about them. Please reply Thanks, Joe |

I have no experience with the orange lights and triangular craft or flying formation, but my limited research states that it not uncommon. It is always easy to be a skeptic until it happens to you!

Hi,
I actually heard of these things. Were they sort of like ***** of light? I don't believe I've heard of them in triangle format, but I've definitely heard of them following each other. |

Hi,
I have posted somewhere in these forums (i think in reply to someone) the exact same thing. It was over our town and these 3 orange lights in the shape of a triangle hovered around for a while over one of the local schools. Heaps of people saw it and it was even photographed and put in the paper the next day. I'm afraid i dont know what it is but i find it strange that this has happened on different occassions. I'm from Australia, where did you see it?? |

I just saw ur post, I have seen similar things, but not orange lights. I have seen multi coloured formations that come together and apart again, move fast then slow then disapear. Similar I guess. Must look more into it, never really thought much about it till now

They are nothing more exotic than chinese party lanterns.
The LAPIS UFO group filmed some very odd lights the other year which went into triangle shapes but were actually lanterns let off at a nearby party. Google for "Weird UFO lights over Lancashire" and watch the You Tube vid and see what you think. I've let some off myself here on Islay and they looked really amazing. Search e-bay if you want to buy some. Kilchoman |

There has been much debate on UFO sites as to whether the orange lights are really Chinese lanterns or just fobbed off as such by government and media. Many sightings in areas where Chinese lanterns are allowed could well be lanterns and not UFO.
I live in Western Australia and have seen what appears to be orange stars but they move, and split into two and then merge together again, and I have seen tiny lights coming and going from them. These orange lights are right up there in amongst the stars. No Chinese lantern could fly that high. My husband saw a big ball of orange light decend one evening..... I doubt very much if anyone would be able to light Chinese lanterns in Australia and especially W.A. due to fire danger. But I know for sure those orange lights which I first thought were stars were definitely not Chinese lanterns. One evening I watched one split into two and one flew off to quite a distance away and stayed in a position for hours.... I ended up giving up watching and went to bed around 2am-3am. No Chinese lantern stays alight for hours. Luvey |

Could yours have been UAVs? Are you close to a military base? I saw something similiar to your sighting when I was in the States outside Area 51 back in the mid 90s. Objects came out of the base and hovered in the Nevada sky for hours and could be seen many miles away. We went back to the hotel at a nearby resort for a bite to eat and came outside an hour later and they had gone. Area 51 was the test facility for UAVs at the time (amongst other things - although nothing alien in my opinion) and sightings similar to ours were quite common when we asked around. Kilchoman |
