Hi everyone,
This is a photo that was taken in the pub I used to manage. It was taken by some ladies who were out celebrating a birthday. It was taken in the back corridor of the pub which leads to the toilets. Apparently when the picture was taken there was just the lady in the costume and the person taking the picture in the corridor. When they looked back at the pictures there was the 'figure' in the background. We tried to recreate the picture with myself and some of my staff using my digital slr camera, using different shutter speeds and various positions, and we found we couldn't get the figure in the back to blur without most of the picture either blurring or being out of focus. I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on the picture Thanks |

looks like the person is running in the background which would cause them to blur while everything else stays focused.

Thats what we thought, but the only way that would happen is if the camera was on a slow shutter speed, meaning the camera would have to be on a tripod for everything else to be in focus?? The camera they used was handheld.

The woman in the front is slightly blurred so the shutter speed prob was slow, my daughter is a trainee photographer who uses a DSLR Camera, i showed her and she agreed it was shutter speed.
