Default Is Psychic Ability Genetic?

Is it as simple as "running in the family" or will, one day, science discover something in our dna? Are we more highly developed than others or are we older souls? Could it be that we've been back and fore so many times our connection with spirit and the astral is stronger? Is nature or nurture? Did your family accept the existence of spirit or do your experiences go against everything you've been led to believe as you grew up?

Personally, I discovered that my Aunt and I had the same entity - 500 miles away - but at around the same time. I havent seen her since I was a kid but when I visited her asked if I was "spooky" which took me aback because I hadnt shared my experiences with anyone. Eager to learn more, I just asked what she meant. She went to describe some of her experiences. Then she asked "What about Gypsy Man?" My blood ran cold. She described him to a T. We called him Gypsy Man because he was swarthy, dirty, dark curly hair, rotten teeth. What he did to my aunt and myself was that he kept popping up around the bedroom over a period of a few months. I would turn over in bed and he'd be there, the wardrobe door would creep open and he'd be standing there or he'd be on the floor and his head would just appear over the bed. He always just said something like "Its MEEEE". Then I'd scream, he'd laugh and disappear. I got fed up with him disturbing my sleep so I looked for ways to find out about what was going on. I found that he could have been an entity that just liked to, or fed on, people's fear and all we had to do was to tell him to go away in no uncertain terms. My aunt and I had, at around the same time, done exactly that. Told him to get lost. He did try to appear again. My eyes flew open one night and I saw what looked like iron filings drawing together in the air. I shouted at him to go away and the dark cloud dissipated. Despite having actually dealt with him I still put it down to a dream or something psychologically going on. But I couldn't deny it after I found out my aunt had the same experience.

Everybody is spirit, everybody has the ability to develop the spiritual faculties of psychic/mediumship, so whilst it can seem to run in families, I would not say it is actually genetic at all, and more so just an intrinsic part of being spirit. Where it does seem to run in families is probably all about it being accepted and allowed expression rather than being dismissed.

That said, my mum literally told me when I was around 8 that me coming out with random psychic comments all the time was "the work of the devil", ... but it made no difference. It was another 20 years before the mediumship side raised it's head out of nowhere, I was an atheist, of course I was not looking for or initially accepting of it myself, ... but the psychic stuff was always there - just random and undeveloped and I thought nothing of it anyway.

So in my case, it was definitely nothing to do with genetics, definitely nothing to do with my environment or the people I knew, and definately nothing to do with my thought processes - I did not acknowledge the psychic stuff as anything but a weird and amusing anomaly, and I definately did not believe in spirits. In fact I was so unaccepting of it, I spent the best part of a year trying to come up with anything, even insanity ...lol, (tho I knew that could not account for spirits telling me things that could only be confirmed later), to try to rationalize what was going on. Eventually tho, it became black and white undeniable, I had no choice but to accept it, ... so even the most unideal circumstances are not going to stop it either if it is just there, whether you like it or not, accept it or not, believe in it or not.

My husband came from a Romany background from his mother's side and from an early age was very gifted as a medium, even though he didn't practise it much.

"Wierd, amusing anomaly" That's how Ive always thought of it till recently. Can't deny it any more. My Aunt did say her father listened and didnt dismiss what she told him. It's apparently her mother and sister that stand to my left (in spirit). My mother desnies it all despite being on the receiving end. My daughter fainted once, with her eyes wide open and looking for all the world as if she were dead. Inside I was screaming, outwardly I was patting her face telling her to wake up, which she did. We were in a very hot and airless shop at the time. I called my mother who picked up the phone immediately asking "What's wrong". She was miles away and heard me scream. She looked out the front door and out the back door when the phone rang. She still says theres no such thing. It's more comfortable for her to believe that so I don't argue. My aunt is on my father's side so it's both sides of the family. But I think you're right - we're all spirit so we can all connect with it if we want to.

As for Gypsy Man - it was scary when he just appeared but I got used to it - and fed up! I'm not scared of him any more. Which is probably why he hasnt been back.

I think he was quite young,Noreen. The first experience I had with him was when he told me I had dropped a glass and broke it,when he was at work! I was cleaning the kitchen cupboards out, nudged a glass, caught it in mid air before it dropped. He told me he saw the glass falling and assumed it had dropped and broken!

My grandfather is very gifted, my mother (his daugther) not so much but my sister and I have seen things. So I am willing to believe that it doesnt really run in the family, possibly just in people who are more in tune with it.

my grandfather is schizophrenic. he's in a insane asylum in salt lake. i think. i haven't talked to him for a long time. this is where my strong belief that there are bad angels comes from. my dad is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints. i am too, i guess. i like the people there so it works for me. i feel kinda like a renegade for this church but i'm still young. only 20 years old. i'm figure out soon enough if its the place for me. along my way i figured out how to talk to people, living people that is through faith or mind power alone. i can read peoples hearts intent but i'm not always right. theres a feeling that comes along with the truth that i'm rather found of. so i usually know the difference right away. its rather direct and i'm sure it would come as quite a shock if you dont know someone like me already. anyway, i've read about psychic schools in China and Mexico. science explains that these new age kids have somehow rebuilt their dna/genetics. i havent read the bookd but i'll snatch the tital real quick.. "China's Super Psychics" By Thomas E. Raffill. i got that from Drunvalo's book "The Ancient Secrets of the Flower of Life"
also in Drunvalo's book he takes about kids being born with the aids virus and rebuilding their genetics to overcome it. the cool thing is these kids that do that become immune to all other diseases as well. very interesting to me becuase i had a biology teacher tell me that he had never been sick not even once. i didn't believe him then.... so altogether this is evolution and i've enjoyed most of it. if your interested in anything i've said, let me know. i love to talk about this stuff.

I with Nats comments I believe that everyone has psychic ability or rather nateral instincts it just depends on how intune you are with your instinct or if choose you develop it. I also believe this was much stronger with past generations as our ancestors paid more attention to their psychic intuition and followings of gut instincts. In our modern age most with head not the heart if you get my meaning. So I don't believe its genetic or in our DNA its just some people are more open about their psychic intuition and others either don't speak about it or overlook it but its inside every single one of us.

lots of love emma xxxx
