I agree - Music is so therapuetic!
A friend/employee of mine had no symptoms of her OCD (obsessive complusive disorder) for a few weeks whilst working on laying a track that she felt inspired to write, - lyrics, music, the lot. I am so incredibly proud of her, not just for pursuing a life long dream of recording a song, (all done professionally by big names in the industry) but her bravery in not only sharing her song, (she's handing Cd's out at work ..lol) but coz she will soon be sharing on Melbourne (Australia) radio (in an interview following her song's debut) her battle with OCD, and the inspiration and healing that came from channeling this in to a productive end. I really did not know what to call the genre when asked, ..but people in radio are labeliing it as a Celtic mix. She, does not care if she is a one song wonder (hopefully one hit wonder ..lol) as this was never about recognition,..but about self healing - and wot better way than from within our own self. She is a star in my eyes, always was anyway, .... but I am on the hunt for a miniature fake grammy replica to engrave and commemorate this fabulous personal achievement. If any one can point me in a direction to locate one (and am sure they must exist) please send me a PM. Nat xxx

cool, to hear/read you knew such a wonderful person Nat. i see a lot of people talk about ambient styles and all which is cool but i love people like my grandmother that way ghehehe she's 93 and still always asking me how it feel to be an musician.. i come from a very musical family so i guess kits in our souls... but what i love about making music for others is that i get to see there faces smile.. seeing them enjoy an relax.. i had that with one of my little 1 year old niece.. she was sitting on my lap and my sister was gone for a bit.. she started crying for here mummy ghehe and i took my little tin whistle and started to play.. without thinking at all.. just from my heart.. she loved it.. i gave here the whistle ghehe but yea that what i love about it besides my own inner feeling for my self i feel to music. music is a true universal language that can empower emotion so well it can make 1000 smile and 1000s remember.. and so much more.
one small thing about it though.. for my music is the language of the soul.. like it has great power to great things... shamans use healing drums.. or other forms like chanting or throat -singing. or how native Americans and African and well all over the world we use it to dance and feel free or empowered by that moment.. well that was it for me for now lol take care JT
