I thought it was on this site that I saw an article and pictures of an Indian boy who meditated under a tree for 18months, observed by scientists and media. He took no food nor even water, but his body was preserved, and he lives a good life. Some meditation hey.
Anyway, I cant find it again now, lol, but when I came across the link below, I thought I recognised the same boy. I am wondering if anyone interested enough could tell me what the words of the song on the video actually mean in English ? just curios cos it doesn?t really matter. Lol. I enjoyed the music right to my heart. It seems to me also, that Indian names are so different in set up to western. What is usual for us is to have Christian names and surnames, but in India it looks like the set up is quite different. There are different Sai baba?s and Babaji?s all over the show lol. Perhaps they are like we know in UK as common names like Smith and Jones, but I don?t think so, and I think they relate more to the philosophy of their kin. Can anyone interested save me some time surfing and let me know if you will, cos I am curious about this. Ordinarily, I would have no interest in anything that might hypnotise me, as I am conditioned not to trust enough to be at the mercy of the will of others. So when I saw `deeptrance` I was a bit sceptical. But something made me take a leap of faith, and I am so happy I did. I felt healing happening as I listened and observed the words of Babaji with long name. (lol, thinks own expressions funny- hope is not offensive to anyone). The video is about ten minutes long, then the music will repeat itself. Personally I really enjoyed Babaji?s philosophy, as well as looking at the pictures of such an exceptionally attractive male (cheeky lol. I hope it lifts your spirits as it has done mine. Here is the link http://www.deeptrancenow.com/babaji.htm I especially liked the bits that said : `Praise everyone, if you cannot praise someone let them out of your life`. I felt it gave me permission to not be harassed by consistent abusers of my good nature. And `Be courageous. Take courage again and again` because it enabled me to take the courage to be myself, and to enjoy being myself. As well as the bit about worshipping fire. (looks round for a fireplace in small modern new house ? nope, no chimneys either, hmm). I knew there was a reason behind my love of candles. Rofl. My daughter (21yrs) said she felt soothed by the music at first, but then got bored with repetition. We surmised it was because she was looking for a conscious `answer` in the video, and she already `knew` the philosophy. Lol. The point is to relax enough to lose conscious, lose subconscious, then be in the oneness which is all and nothing. It may take weeks of practise, but then - There is peace. Happy hunting. Love and light to all. Jas xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

BABAJI
![]() BABAJI There are sime e-books about Babaji in the members area. I have also spoken about Babaji in my online classes. Below I have copy pasted a short explaination about the Babaji I have spoken about in class - the ageless yogi who though very very old still has the body and face of a young man. Babaji is a name given to many great yogis in India but the most famous of them all is expalined below. If you are interested to learn more I would reciommend you first read Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogannanada - a life changing book. In the book Yogannanada meets Babaji - who is still alive today. There are many other fascinating accounts of this amaizing yogi an inner guru of gurus. ![]() Yogananda Here is the explaination: Yogananda and Babaji: A Tale of Two Yogis - Yogananda and Babaji By D K SHARMA Yogananda and Babaji: A Tale of Two Yogis - Yogananda and Babaji Paramhansa Yogananda talked about Mahavatar Babaji for the first time in his Autobiography of a Yogi. Also known as Nagraj Babaji, Mahavatar Baba had Tamil origins. His followers believe he is approximately 1,000 years old. Babaji's disciples think of him as the incarnation of Lord Shiva, and so believe that he is present everywhere. Babaji once told his disciples of the Creator: ''He is deathless. He can do whatever He wills. The whole universe is an expanded bubble ready to burst before Him.'' A Mahayogi himself, Babaji is said to have spent centuries as a recluse in the Himalayas, performing intense penance and meditation to attain enlightenment. Many of his disciples believe that the Mahavatar moves around in the interior recesses of the Himalayas accompanied by a group of highly evolved American, European and Indian disciples. Seldom was Mahavatar Babaji spoken of earlier, because of his self-negating approach to enlightenment. Mahavatar Babaji pioneered Kriya Yoga, the form of yoga envisioned by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. Far removed from the mundane, Babaji believed that the yogi must allow his consciousness to expand to be ''undifferentiated'' with the Almighty who is the "Ultimate Reality''. Self-dedication is surrendering the ego and loving humankind. Selfless service is service performed with detachment, without expecting returns. To attain this, Babaji put forth five major kriya yogas: hatha yoga, kundalini pranayam, dhyanasana, mantra yoga and bhakti yoga. If Patanjali, who wrote the Yoga Sutra nearly 2,005 years ago, was instrumental in defining the principles of yoga in its different forms, Paramhansa Yogananda played a major role in popularising those principles worldwide. Mahavatar was a siddha sadhaka, a saint who has attained realisation of the Supreme. Kri means 'action' and ya means awareness. So kriya means action through awareness. Yoga unites the individual self with the cosmic self through expansion of consciousness. The yogi controls breath, channelises his energy to revolve upwards and downwards around the six spinal centres and thus spiritually magnetises his body cells. Half-a-minute of kriya equals a year of a natural spiritual hug. The Kriya Yogi arrests the deterioration of body capacity by infusing an additional supply of prana (life force) through quietening of actions of lungs and heart. He neutralises decay and growth, and learns how the life force is controlled. Krishna has depicted how desire, fear and anger can be banished through a sensory mode, gazing. The non-flinching gaze has magical effects. The guru's fixed gaze upon the middle point of eyebrows of the disciple will exude-de a tremendous healing force. This can also be attained by neutralising the current of prana and aprana (devoid of the life force) within the nostrils and lungs. Saint-writer Yogananda mentioned that Babaji had initiated Adi Shankaracharya and mediaeval saint-poet Kabir into Kriya Yoga. In the phantasmagorial world of the siddha sadhaka, a Kriya Yoga exponent is capable of taking various shapes - through the process of transformation - as a tree, a swan, a bird, an animal, or any other living thing. He can even become invisible. Life becomes a wilful expanse for the yogi and distance is not an eventual reality. Some Kriya Yogis transport themselves as beams of light. Babaji preached attainment of soruba samadhi. It is another form of high yoga in which an individual surrenders to the Divine Will and allows that Will to transform his human nature. Today we also have Haidakhan Babaji - I am not sure how he relates to the Babaji in the Yogannanda books: http://www.babaji.net/

For a quick ref - sourced from chp's link - babaji.com
`Om Namah Shivaya - Also written and pronounced Om Namah Shivai. Said to be the first words uttered by the Creative Source; the oldest mantra. It can be translated as I bow to/ surrender to/take refuge in Shiva. Lord Shiva is known as the Doer of Good, and the mantra is also interpreted to mean, I bow to whatever Good is happening and to Whomsoever is doing it.` How good is that. love and light Jas xxxxxx |

Just in case anyone is interested, another source says:
"Om Namah Shivaya (ohm nah-mah shi-vay-ya) Salutations to that which I am capable of becoming. Use this mantra to ease your spiritual unfoldment. " Which is a bit different. Except if being good is what you want to be capable of becoming lolol. Love and light Jas xxxxxxx |

Hi Jas,
Throw an Om in and I'm in, ... love it so much I had the symbol tattoed above my heart and think it is my best feature, ... lol. Maybe I am a bit weird, but I think it is a beautiful concept, the essence of all creation, everything yet nothing, and makes all that nutty little Zen stuff like "the sound of one hand clapping" so perfectly logical in it's simplicity. Correction - I am most definitely weird - Someone call the space cadet police  I have also heard that Om Namah Shivaya, along with Om Mani Padme hum, ...and Amazing Grace - all have sound notes which correspond with and beneficially affect all the chakra's. Personally I can believe that coz it is like turning on an energy shower to me, ...yummo, ... even doing Om's at the end of yoga class (which is only 3 of em) sends energy rushing through me. It can't all be about having turned myself in to a pretzel for a hour, or silencing my mind, coz I don't have to do either to get the same effect, ... but I do wonder in class if everyone is feeling this or if I am just a spoilt little energy junkie. It would be nice to hear if others feel physical effects from sound. Don't know about the Amazing Grace one tho coz it's not in my music repertoire to test and that came from someone who also thinks the sex of children is determined by which fallopian tube an egg descends from, ...aliens put Ayers Rock in the middle of Australia to change the energy on the planet, ...I can capture Buddhist energy if I put a bowl of water in front of my fire on a full moon, ... and that I will never evolve until I take her word for it that spirits are real and Arch Angels are standing in the corner of a room, ...but she would know coz she is a "dream seer", and I am an idiot apparently. FYI - Om mani padme hum, can be translated to mean "hail to the jewel in the lotus", ...but is actually about recognition of impurity in body mind and spirit, ... the embodiment and altruistic intention of cultivating compassion, ... the blending of wisdom with manner, ( puts on shopping list) ...the recognition of impermanence of all states of being, ...yet at the same time recognition of all that is unfluctuating and unaffected by perception, ...along with the recognition of the divine essence in us all that can be continually transformed and refined until impurity is transcended. At least that is my understanding of it anyway. Gosh, ... I'm inspiring myself just writing about it, ... I think I need an Om fix now

Hiya Nat
My heart smiles and feels all warm and jubbly when I see your posts. Thankyou for sharing. Bless your heart. I heartily chuckled to see this one. You have a great way with words, a wordtwizzler I call it. I found a page on mantra?s, not sure if I am allowed to put the source, so it may be edited out. Was from Spirit of angels .co m. Here are a few of what I think are the best / simplest ones: QUOTE ?A mantra must connect you with the sacred. Here is a list of some useful mantras. They are all in Sanskrit - a holy language from India. Select one that resonates with the area of life or quality that you'd like to enhance. If you don't know which one to select I would recommend using Om as your first mantra.? ?Om (ohm) The greatest of all mantras it is the representation of the Supreme Being. The past, present and the future are all included in this one sound. Meditation on this sacred syllable is said to satisfy every need and leads to liberation.? ?Om Shanti (ohm shahn-tee) The peace of God. ? ?Om mani padme hum (ohm mah-nay pahd-may hoom) For opening the heart center and developing compassion.? ?Shivo ham (shi-voh-hum) To awaken to one's own spirituality.? ?Hari om tat sat (huh-ree ohm tut sut) For purification and for the benefit of departed souls. Two not so simple to chant until you are used to the sound automatically, but very worthy of note I feel: ?Om tare ture tuttare ture soha (ohm ta-ray too-ray too-t-tar-ray too-ray so-ha) To liberate oneself from fears.? Om Sharavana-bhavaya Namaha (ohm sha-ra-van-a bha-vai-ya) To brighten and increase the positive effects of everything in your life. And one that is so simple it knocks all else into rubbish, and if only I had known magic was so simple lolol. ?Ah (ahh) Seed mantra for manifesting thoughts into the physical world. Begin by chanting or repeating this mantra, then visualize whatever it is you'd like to manifest. See it clearly and then repeat the mantra again until your visualization has been penetrated with the mantra.? Beware the power of simplicity > and keep your heart true, that?s when happiness comes. See ya ohming about some time. Love and light Jas xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Oh yes and
Interesting you say about the lotus blossom, cos as i hear the above (video) chant, i have a definate pattern going on - 3 chants into red chakra, then visualise red lotus blossom with many petals open on breath in, then chucks out all the grey rubbish on breath out. Music then changes as i lift energy to next chakra, 3 times into yellow chakra, yellow lotus opens on breath in, etc etc, up to indigo and then chant quickens as i ask for expanded awareness. Loverly Loverly. In my experience working with young people, it seems to be the place they try to go to when they take street drugs. My daughter tells me its the same place she goes when she listens to some of her generations music, when she is dancing and in the music hypnotically. Enjoy. Love and light Jas xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
