It is very powerful.. A lot of Native American Indian music are prayers and offerings and old folk lore of songs before big hunts, and warrior celebrations after a big hunt.... My Tribe, Blackfeet Nation has many songs we sing in the changes of seasons that the great spirits bless upon us plentiful crops and good hunting and safety for our warriors and families. Today, we sing them out of respect for what was, and still is in our souls to this very day.
Today, many Indian musicians do offerings through their music with old stories brought back to life... there is a lot of energy in those songs and deep spirit. There is also a lot of sadness in the songs from what has been done to mother earth and hearing how she weeps and cries for her children ( humans and animals and nature). There are also many songs of celebration of the land, the land in which the great spirits have painted many pictures for us to enjoy. It's nice to see many of you enjoying the music Annie xx |
