My theory on why some houses get haunted especially ones where violence happened is this. Okay I was watching forensic files one time and they showed how they have the technology to be able to see where blood residue is and where blood had been. They said how blood residue can remain on things in a house like furniture walls etc even after the walls and things are thoroughly cleaned even when cleaned with bleach etc. So they sprayed the walls with this chemical that would turn bright neon green when it mixed with blood residue and when they sprayed this man's house you could see where the walls, furniture, floor, and everthing in the room turned bright neon green in the shape of like blood splattering, it was like a blood bath, even though to the naked eye you would never see the residue. That's how they were able to use that as part of the proof in charging him with the crime he committed. So I was thinking that some houses even old houses could have like microscopic blood resude especially inplaces where someone was murdered or died and that blood can somehow connect the person to that place because it was their bodily fluids, then I remember in the Bible where God tol Cain that the blood of his brother Able that was spilled on the groud cried up to Him. So I was thinking that that could contribute to some hauntings. Anyone think this could have somehting to do with it? Microscopic DNA residue on things the person once owned and as well as in places where they once lived, personal items stuff like that. Especially when you think about what they can do with technology and DNa samples and residue to solve crimes.

As living beings we have an aura (our energy) everything we touch we leave an imprint of our energy on...which is why some psychics can hold an object belonging to someone else and pick up info on it (psychometry). There would be alot of emotion and energy surrounding a murder I would think which in my opinion is why the "ghost' of that gets left behind. Thats how I view it anyway.

Thats VERY interesting, food for thought. But personally I leave "paranormal" entities to remain unexplained or proved, because nobody knows the exact truth of it.

Its like, you don't know something for sure, but you just believe in it.

This energy is not simply emitted by us it is us! It is life and it surrounds the universe and al in it alive or not.

When we go into a certain place house, wood, valley anything we pick up certain traces of this life force and it is thes ethat we pick up on.

Some are darker than others and these get their strength from scaring us and others. It is our belief that creates these things both good and bad and it is our believe that gives them strength.

It is this energy that we pick up on and not left over DNA.

i kind of feel like a ghost is just a spirit, i think that if someone is murdered or killed in a house that the spirit could haunt the hose but not because of blood spatter..i feel like hauntings don't have anything to do with actual material things, just spirits...just my opinion, who really knows, right?

If something bad happened to you somewhere, do you really think you would want to hang around that place? I know I would want to be as far way from it as possible.

But if something really bad has happened, such as a murder, it can leave an imprint which lingers. Ghosts or spirits seemed to be trapped for some reason and unable to move on.

I dont believe that spirits are trapped, I do believe that there is residual energy left behind, the 'ghost' or imprint of the event.

For the purpose of this post, let me define ghosts and spirits (I'll try to give more details in another topic).
Ghosts are a recording of the events that happened once on the space time continuum and is replayed from time to time, you cannot interact with these, they wont do anything much, and what they do wont change, whenever they are seen they will be doing the same thing.

Spirits (in the haunted houses sense), are spirits of people who have passed away prematurely, they can be interacted with, their actions can change, they are not bound or trapped to a particular place, however they cannot as yet move over to the spirit world (or do not wish to move to spirit world), they can stay anywhere they want (on earth, mars, another planet a billion light years away), if they stay in a particular house it is because they want to stay there. Their reasons for wanting so may be many and only they know it. However they are generally not a threat (unless you give them a reason to give you trouble). If its a family member or friend you can even ask them for help and protection.

There are also other kinds of spirits (some more nasty then all others combined) however that is beyond this topic and this post.
