It's on the Travel Channel on Friday Nights at 10:00 PM and reran at 1:00 AM. If you have cable you probably get it otherwise you may not have the Travel Channel. It's not as good it Derek Ocorah isn't on there though.

Although I like Derek Acorah, I actually think it got better when he left. Some of his theatrics alienated some viewers and made many sceptics point the finger. Gordon Smith however, presented mediumship in a much more naturalistic manner, and showed that contacting Spirit is not all about being possessed and attacking Yvette Fielding...

I saw my first few episodes of MH and admit I really enjoyed the programme, especially the one which showed heat in the photo image of some sort of barrel/jar. I read a couple of Derek's books and found those absorbing and it was from all this and having a reading from a medium that I really started to study and develop.
Unfortunately as I started to learn and understand the 'mechanics' (for want of a better word!) of spirit that I grew disappointed with the programme. I saw further programmes which increasingly showed Derek becoming 'possessed' and felt it was more and more over the top, that in truth this would not happen. But IMHO if we want to believe something enough it becomes our 'truth' and I feel sad that either Derek truly believes he is possessed or that he is acting. Similarly with any group of people in such a situation if one screams the fear spreads and......
It seems such a missed opportunity that a programme which can spark an interest changes into one which seems to portray such 'far fetched' situations.
I have the greatest respect for the other mediums and for Gordon Smith especially, I haven't yet seen any of the programmes with him in it, I really do hope he and the others are able to resist this temptation to 'entertain' rather than illustrate and represent spirit in it's true form.

might be worth a watch just to see him. i've heard a lot about him, but never saw him or read any of his books.

Yes, he is. He is an exellent medium, and you should read some of his books.

hello, i still like most haunted with Gordon Smith as the resident medium but i do miss Derek Acorahs charisma. He was a bit over the top sometimes but very watchable. Does anyone else get annoyed when Yvette interupts the medium giving interesting information to either exclaim "Did you hear that!?" or "Something touched the top of my head!!" It's like she isn't interested in what is being said and makes the audience miss an interesting thread of insight. Tibbee

l used to love MH too,l only get to see it on FTN channels over here in the UK....l also loved the series DEAD FAMOUS with Gail Porter & Chris Fleming,actually prefering it to MH....l miss that show...the American show GHOST HUNTERS looks good too,my friend from over there told me about it and wished I could see it over here,I do watch clips on YOUTUBE

I have seen Ghost hunters on regular occassions and it is much much better than MH .

If they dont find anything then they dont - simple as that.

Also they are always looking for natural explanations and usually are able to discount many noises,shadows etc
that would seem to be paranormal activity.

They also have had some very very good EVP readings and some apparitions (shadow figure etc ) caught on
locked-off cameras.

It is well worth catching if you can - unlike MH which is just a farce now,i sold all my DVD's etc before they
eventually become worthless !!
