Yes, do go to the Keep again, and let us know what happens. I'll probably be going there again in a week or so, as my brother is coming up from London & he wants to take his kids there. It's pretty cheap to get in - only ?1.50 for an adult and less for kids.
I don't know how far north you are, but there are loads of haunted venues to visit in Northumberland. There's all the castles: Alnwick Castle, Warkworth, Bamburg are the best. Then there's Lindisfarne too, Holy Island. And a good one would be going to Hadrian's Wall, to the Roman Fort there, where lots of Roman soldier ghosts have been seen. This county must be one of the best for haunting investigations, because of all the wars between the Scots & English on the borders, and the Romans vs Celts & Picts too, & the Viking hoards. Lots of conflict and incidents of history to add to the residual energy!! |

hi star, im not far from kenton and 3 miles from the airport and 4 miles from the city if that narrows it down lol...ive been to holy island and in the grounds of bambrugh castle but i didnt go in coz i had my dog with me....
I went to the keep yesterday it was great and great memories came flooding back, i took photo's on my mobile but as i can see i didnt catch anything, i would put them on me p.c but i lost my u.s.b. for my mobile!!....the castle, the garrison room (chapel) is what spooked me out the most, i could not stay in there for more then 5 mins, i had a blinding headache every time i walked in the room!.. The well room...my god i didnt know who far down the drop was till my son told me to have a look, he said 'they used to throw people down there as punishment mam'...so i wanna no if thats true?.... The queen's chamber was cool , i think thats were the dressed up dummies are or is it the kings room is, forgive me as i cannot remember.. The great hall was lovely, it's never changed apart from the photographs of newspaper clippings of spirits and orbs on a bill board, and the touch screne t.v's ....climbing up them stairs was brilliant, as a kid i didnt care how high up i was but now i was terrified,so i didnt stay on the roof for long.. i loved the old grave stones, even touching them was fab, im so soft hearted when it came to the grave stones, there are loads of them.. i would love to go back in time and seen how they lived and worked in the keep.. even the man working on the door looked like death warmed up, yeah the price is right, it's cheap to get in and i will be going back no time soon as soon as i buy another digi cam.... my hubby is on 2 weeks holiday in august so im gonna go ghost hunting in all the places i know... stay safe xx noreen xx  |

Can another Geordie join in here? I was born in Gateshead but live down south now but many happy memories of the Keep in Newcastle. I too, used to play there a kid and it always had an eerie feel about it. I always made sure there was someone near me,used to see shadows there many a time.

Well, let's put it this way! It wasn't as posh then as it is now. Old crumbling buildings,an ideal playground for kids. I remember once going up to the roof and surveying the landscape. Last time I was at the keep must have been around the 1980's when I took my hubby to see it.
