Hello. I am new to the forum and first, wanted to say hello to everyone.
Next, I have a question and have put it in the conspiracy section as I tihink it is probably most appropriate. OK..about 2 years ago I was quite deeply involved in the "conspiracy" buzz that seems to be either pulling people in one direction ( negative ) or pushing them away into another direction ( positive ). Or, so it might seem.....that is why I am here. I found that when I was involved with this one side my mind was constantly being occupied by negative, scary thoughts. I would read a lot of conspiracy books, listen to alternative media and would more or less drive myself crazy with fear. Then....I seemed to go in the other direction. I first read Eckhart Tolle's books and they really changed my way of thinking. I found that I was more able to put things into a better perspective and basically felt much better about where I was on this path of mine. Although fear would creep in now and again, I would find it much easier to push away. I have recently read neale Walsch's books as well and found them quite inspiring. So...here is my dilemma... I am now hearing that these new age " gurus" are actually a part of the bigger conspiracy...they are actually trying to brainwash people, dumb them down to keep them from " reacting" and " criticizing" what is yet to come. I almost feel as if I am being pushed, pulled in the other direction again and I dont really like it. I am really upset and annoyed because I was feeling so good, and then all of a sudden find myself surfing the internet trying to find "proof" that these guys are all a sham. Why? Is it true? ****. I suppose you could argue either way. Perhaps the fear mongers are the brainwashers. Some people say that Alex Jones is part of the conspiracy as well, yet he preaches the truth. I dont know...what are we supposed to believe? Or is it more of a question of trusting yourself and your innermost feelings? Spirituality has been around long before religion, am I correct? I think about the natives and how they praised and worshipped their Gods...hardly think there was any conspiracy in that. Do you really believe that you can have experiences of a spiritual nature? I wonder...I sometimes think I have, but I seem to think there is more to it. Now, I am babbling...any thoughts? Last edited by Anstar; Thu, 28th Jan 2010 at 11:35 am. By its very nature conspiract theories create a lot of negative, by thinking the establishment ( or whoever) are trying to hide the thruth creates suspician and distrust. Now im not saying that people arent hiding things but in my opinion most conspiracy theories are a tad extreme.
Being spiritual does not make you above it a simple fact proven by how many conspiracy theories are on this forum. My opinion is to select what resonates with you leave the rest but always leave your opinions open for review.

Yes, I guess that makes sense. it seems as if we are being bombarded by suspicion, negativity and confusion. Some say this is on purpose. I am always amazed at how feeling good and getting in touch with your spirit can be seen as suspicious. Most of the fear mongers are Christians...I cannot say with absolute certainty which is "truth" but seems to me that an institution in which creates a wrathful God creates suspician...then again, who am I to say? Hell...is there one? Should we be scared? It what they are saying true? That God warned of the devil is actually posing as the new agers? Holy cow...what to believe. I agree, what resonates with you is probably the best thing. it is so hard to throw away years of programmed baggage out the window and start anew.....but I am tryng

Hi Buddylove,
interesting topic but can I kindly ask you to refrain from using swear words in any form even abbreviations or stars replacing letters as this may cause offense to other site users and likely get your post deleted and we wouldn't want that. luv n light Anstar

Oh, I remember now I said ****. I wasnt aware that was a swear word. I am not upset at all if you in fact think this is a swear word. I am not inclined to think so, just my opinion. I am not in the habit of using profanity on public forums. I belong to a few and the word "****" would never be taken as offensive. Again, just my opinion.

Yes buddy that was the word and it is a swear word and whether or not you use it daily, it is not fitting on the boards so please refrain from using it thank you, please don't be offended but I will be deleting the post that you just used that word in again.

Sure no problem.
I am wondering if it is a regional thing..where maybe in one country that would be considered offensive and in another would not be. In any case, please know that where I come from it would never be considered offensive and even children use that expression quite frequently. Since it is considered inappropriate here, I apologize sincerely. |
