I have had this problem for 6 years now, since I have been with my partner. It still scares me even though this has happened hundreds of times.
For the last six months I have not had it at all,but for that time I have been sleeping in seperate beds! one night I stayed in the same bed,as soon as I nodded off I was instantly paralised and heard a loud groaning in my ear but couldnt turn my head to see where it was coming from and when I tried to scream for help there was a tremendous amount of pressure on my throat and could not speak! This is how I am tormented mostly, butit varies from time to time, but the event before we stopped sleeping together bothers me the most! Before the seperate bed thing one night when my partner was heavily pregnant I was awake and rolled over to get more comfortable and saw a dark translucent figure curled up on top of her,it dissapeared after 3 or 4 seconds,I woke her instantly and she said maybe it was her fater who had passed away many years ago,and he was there to protect the baby! She was obviously not at all scared. The following night the same happened as I rolled over but it turned its head around and looked at me as soon as I turned towards it,it had no face but was clearly a figure! Ever since I have never slept with her.She seems to think there is a link and believes me to have an evil spirit within as does my parents, but she believes the figure and the paralasis incidents to be the work of a good spirit protecting her from my evil spirit within myself! My partner has been awaken in the night knowing that someone is looking at her, when she turns to see, aparently I am awake rigid and gazing at her,but she claims it not to be me,she says"it's you but not you underneath"and screams until I wake up!I cannot explain why this happens when we are sleeping together and not at all when alone or with previous partners! I have had many paranormal experiences and believe that throughout my life I have been followed by something that does not mean well! My parents have said since I left home 16 years ago they have had no more strange experiences or paranormal activity but when I was around they were very very regular! I am not really sure what I hope to gain from this post as I think answers would scare me and make things worse, and I very much doubt anyone has the same problems as me. If anyone thinks this is linked to the paralasis or has any ideas or experiences of the same nature I would like to know your views .Leigh |

I'm new here, but was very interested in the SP experiences, and I wondered if nat, or someone interested, would comment on a dream state sexual experience I once had. One night, my movements during a nocturnal emission woke up my wife, who was understandably very annoyed. I recalled the dream very accurately leading up to this. A dark haired woman who I did not recognise but can still recall, was making love on top of me and I remember the feelings of pleasure like waves, unlike the usual sensation. I asked her, in the dream, who she was, and she said what sounded like "Linda Beaton". I put this down to the usual frustrated man explanation, but it was so powerful, and new to me, that I wondered if anything else was involved, like SP, or even a spirit. I am rather sceptical, and not a medium or psychic, but I was curious enough to check up the name on various websites I used for ancestry research, and eventually found just one woman with that name who had died many years ago.
I think this is all mundanely psychological, and coincidental, but I can understand some people thinking that a spirit was behind it. I cannot remember any pressure or discomfort, but I woke up very quickly when wifey shouted at me! |

The same thing used to happen to me often I learnt that if you calm down and dont struggle control your breathing and generally relax and and repeat to yourself that it is sleep paralysis and will end shortly it is easier to handle BUT I agree it can be very scary especially when you keep trying to move. I found it would more likely to happen when I was under some stressful times. |

it could be sleep paralysis which some believe is simply a medical issue...but i personally think there is much more too it....at least in some folks' cases (to include myself)
No more than 2 years back or so i started getting these sorta things. First one was one of the most terrifying obviously but it never seemed to fit the description of sleep paralysis 100%. I never felt anything on top of me. The room wasn't cold. There was a dark shadow that i saw but didnt see. i simply sensed it so strongly that i knew where it was and made out its shape...hard to describe really even to myself. but this thing....came at me once i was aware of it. i could have sworn it called my name too. It always seemed to hide within things in my house as it moved...until it was right next to me just looking at me (granted it had no face no eyes...it was just dark) the closer it got, the more terrified i was. i fought to move, but my arms felt stuck....but they started to sorta vibrate (like looking at a fan spin quickly) and i usually woke up not too long after i started to fight. the odd thing was that this paralysis only started after i became more aware of the paranormal...thanks to my friends who are magnets to this sorta thing. i started to become scared of napping during odd hours because thats when these things happened the most. but on occasion they would happen during regular sleep hours. not long ago i went off to Infantry OSUT for the Army...got injured though before i could complete training and was eventually discharged. however, the entire time i was there i never had one case of sleep paralysis. in fact ive never had one outside of my house. the day i came back i got a very WARM WELCOME from the Shadow when i went to sleep. and by warm i dont mean nice...sarcasm. The experience was more like HELL. (since i was gone so long my invisible lil friend missed me). Well i awoke in my sleep state to find this thing looming over my bed side....but not facing me when i first noticed it. (an easy way to put it would be it was turned away with its head down meditating...just picture that but a shadow i guess) but not long after i noticed it, it turned toward me VERY ALERT AND VERY ANGRY....hence the hiss it let out when it turned. then it seemed to SLAM into me with its whole body....like a scorpion repeatedly striking with its tail. i could literally feel it hitting me. i closed my eyes and cowered and eventually woke up. ive had other sleep related experiences that are not all connected to the sleep paralysis state. i do sleep in the nude so maybe they like the look of my hot bod ;P but i do not think these sorta things can PHYSICALLY harm you...just mentally weaken you to a negative state. although i havent gone to a doctor for sleep paralysis....i do suggest it because it may cause actual health problems if you literally have sleep paralysis. |
