I would like to know the meaning of the following event that keeps happening to me..whether it's paranormal or just co-incidence!. My doorbell rings once at 6:15 pm and other times between 7:15pm and 9:00 pm. and when I looked to see who was at my door there was no one at all. The ringing style was the same number of rings that my partner uses to let us know she is home..other ring styles are like one, two three in a very fast fashion.
This phenomenon seems to occur monthly at different times and days. We look for hours outside to no avail, there is no one there and we do not have any children living in our neighborhood. Can someone please help solve this mystery for me. Conscious!!!. |

I have no explanation but have heard of this before. I'm a live-in carer and one of the other carers was sent round to a clients just to find the doorbell rings at 8pm every night and nobody is there. Then she realised there wasn't even a doorbell!! There were not any chiming clocks or anything in the house. Confused by this she asked the elderly lady she was looking after who told her it's happened the whole time for years and it's just the ghost who does this every evening. This carer left the premises as it scared the living daylights out of her!!!

I also can't really explain, but when I worked years ago, the cleaner for our firm's husband died.
Shortly after the funeral, her doorbell would sound in the evening, but when she looked outside, no one there. It also put me in mind of when my own father died, and mom reported to me that for a while afterwards her telephone would ring in the evenings, but there was no one there at the other end. Both of these incidents seem to be the departed spririts of our cleaner's husband and my father trying to contact their widows, maybe just to let them know they're still around. However, I can't say the same thing about your experience, or has someone in your family recently passed away? All the best to you. |

No one in my immediate family has passed away recently. I have a friend who passed away recently. What's strange about this is that the number and timing of the rings are similar how my mate rings the bell in the evenings when home.

I was home alone and the door bell rang and when I found out that no one was there voices started coming out of the TV and then the intercoms around the house. I thought maybe something was shorted out, but the 2nd floor door started began to swing open and I got chills up my spine. I felt like I wasn't home alone. My dog started to growl at the upstairs door and began to back away. I instantly knew I had spirits in the house with me. I called my husband to immediately come home.
Do you have an intercom/electronic doorbell. Was it windy or cold that night? The doorbells have been known to short out on their own but that's not what happened to me. Not sure if that's what happened to you either or if you had a haunting going on. Were you home alone? Blue Heron |

No, I was not home alone others were also in the house. I have an electronic door bell. The weather was perfect each time the door bell rings. Guess what, I have taped my door bell with lots of tape now so last week I heard knocks on my door instead.
Any suggestions?. |

Well my house had a vast history of hauntings - it is an 85-year-old house and I've made several posts about the other hauntings that I have had so I don't want to be redundant. But so my question to you would be are there situations that have occurred in the home besides the front door? If your answer is yes, than you may have more validity to back up paranormal evidence. If not, it could be a prankster, but I do have another theory. My parent's house was haunted and one evening my sister saw a shadow of a man standing over her several minutes before she heard bounding on the house all around the entire house as if the being was outside the house hitting the siding. It wasn't a prankster because the pounding occurred too fast around the house for someone to have run. You may have a poltergeist. How long have you lived there?

Only the front door is affected. I am the first and only owner of this house it is brand new..newly built. It couldn't have been a pranskter because as the door bell rang I quickly ran and look out of the windows and saw no one!!!.

Is it dark outside when these knockings/ringings happen? May be a prankster, and they could have hidden somewhere so you wouldn't see them hiding. I live on an estate where idiots like to bang doors and take off, so quickly you can't even SEE them running off!!!
Or maybe it could after all be your recently deceased friend trying to say hello! All the best Dolly |

I had a friend who had the same situation and we never could see it happening, until one night when I stayed over and we stayed up all night in the dark right near the door. We did not get much sleep but it was worth it. We caught the kids who were doing it!
Try this. But if no one (who you can see) is there when you open the door then it is either a spirit seeking your help, or an electrical problem (which is sometimes due to spirits also but check the wiring anyways).
