How is it that planets and stars as massive as they are that have very little if any affect on our planet how would they have an affect on us?
Why are two Astrologers completely opposite with their readings. Surely this thing that has been trusted for centuries canbe been all done on a hunch can it? So I ask how does Astrology work? What is it that effects us that the Astrologers can read? |

I believe it works with the principle of synchronicity, which was mainly "discovered" and used by Jung.
As to why some Astrologers may differ in their interpretations... There are some many parts of the charts that may mitigate or reinforce each other that it takes a lot of experience and skill to pick up on the overall tendency. |

i think minator's question is a valid one and the lack of any decent answer is very telling indeed could it be that astrology doesn't work? |

Hi guys,
My approach on Astrology is strictly scientific in relation to emotion, and by no means on a Phychic level (although the 2 can be combined) Quote:
And the apperent little effect is a consequence of Time, synchronisity & sequence...... If you shift one of these planets out of line, the Earth as we know it ends. Won't give you the physics behind it, but if you take planet the size (& mass) of saturn and shift it a couple of miles, the earth's trip around the sun will essentially be knocked out of line. Wouldn't go as far to say that astrology doesn't work, but I do take certain astrological readings with a pinch of salt. Scientifically in my mind it can be averaged across groups of people, and personality/Emotional traits can be associated with it. You can't say that you don't feel different at different parts of the year, Understanding that it has a pattern however is key to the understanding of it. The day you are born, Represents where the world is when circiling the sun and where all the other stars are alligned. It would be reasonable to assume on that allignement it would surely have an effect on how you felt inside (Given what I said on the Gravity pull above). Your first feeling to the rest of you life so to speak. On Astrologers having opposite messages, I think its quite simple - Astrologers should all be using a similar universal chart, Its their interpretation of it and what they use as a guideline that differs. For example, an astrologer may use examples of Key traits from each Star Sign to first establish a pattern of emotion - they then might associate this to people they know, so that they have a guidline for comparison to understand how they feel, this interpretation maybe somewhat flawed, but reasonable. They may also compare this to statistical data and/OR measure it against their experience from measuring patterns and understanding behaviours to make sound prediction. Their opposing messages is based on the different techniques the use to establish the reading, over a period of time they should be reasonably alike. If I was an astrologer, I would want to have a huge amount of statistical data, on possibly 100,000 individuals over a period of say 10 years, to attribute any degree of accuracy to the interpretation. On an individual basis and To get more accurate, you have to go into moon signs, ascending/decending sun, place in the month, year - all that jazz, but it can be done. Either way it doesn't take into account the element of choice. Its a suggestion of what you maybe doing given how the stars say you may be feeling. Relate it to palm reading, if I was to read a hand it is ALWAYS about how the hand reads (given the contours on the palm) and NOT necessarily how it is. Take Care |

how will the Earth (as we know it) end if one of the planets is shifted "out of line"? give me the physics - i'm not scared! there is no conceivable method by which astrology works. period. (so there!) |

Nope, not concievable. But it does work. On the thought of it not having anything to do with predicting choice, I think that is what makes it so nice. It's almost like being able to read god's plan in the skies. As religious people say, he has a plan for all of us, but we all have free choice, so when we use astrology, we are reading this book of our life and have a wider selection of choices as a result.

still no answer to minator's question though. oh, i know, could it be universal quantum energy interconnectedness? |

Actually, my father uses the term quantum wave mechanics. It's a complicated area of advanced physics, I think.

i) Lets say the effect is tiny, we are not looking at one tiny effect we are looking at 100,000 tiny effects that change depending on when/where you were born. Lets say its one tiny effect, and think of lets say your sister ticking you off for whatever reason, although small in comparison to your whole life, the effect that it has on you isn't so small, it can last for days, lead to changed opinions and also lead to a change in person overall. I'm not saying that the effect of this is massive on a person, but I am saying that the gravitational pull regardless of how small is there and will have an effect on the water in your body. ii) The sun is moving, so if saturn shifts its pull on the earth and each of the other planets it becomes closer to becomes stronger, lets say it shifts the earth 1mm. On each cicle round the sun the earth will have moved 2mm on the other side, on the next rotation it is closer to saturn and the pull is again greater, it moves another 1.5mm. Multiply that by a Year and we are now frozen as if in an ice age and our atmosphere can't be sustained. This would be a very different world to the one we are in now. Your still not buying it? Take Care. |

just like how the moon effects turtles mating rituals, then position of the panets can innately affect mood, personality, libido. at least thats what i believe. its not for everyone, but since ive been following it more closely ive started noticing patterns in the world around me. its all about timing and synchronicity (spell check). theres no definitive proof theres a god yet people spend a lot of their time at church worshiping him (too much if you ask me). i guess reading the skies is my bread and wine.
