I have a couple of times seen spirits whilst awake, but spirits often come to me in dreams just as I am waking.

I am aware of my surroundings, I do not have out of body experiences, rather, inner ones. I always sleep on my left side, but often my 'inner being' will turn around inside of me and be looking out the back of my head, and this is when I will see spirits and they will talk to me. Their voice usually wakes me up, then I will open my eyes and physically turn over to be greeted by thin air.

The most recent was a small blonde girl who came up behind me and not knowing who I was said "Hey!" loudly and brightly at a friend's house. Before that I had a terrifying experience in a flat in Bath, UK with the spirit of an old woman who reared her vicious face right into mine and I woke up terrified, mid-skating back across the pillow to escape her.

I will also sometimes communicate with the thoughts and feeling of close friends in dreams, especially if they are in the same room as me. I will be sleeping with my back to them, but my inner self will turn over and have a full conversation about all our thoughts and fears towards each other.

Can anyone shed light on this for me?
