i can relate to the pickin up on moods as i do it often myself...i can be very happy and secound i walk past someone i sense thier mood... my husband can even walk in door and me not see him at all and i can sense his mood wich then turns mine into what ever his is especially the on his bad days...i dont do the big crowd things either because it use to be really bad there...and just to much for me... i figured it was my sanity at first..but i did the medical thing..went to docs to rule out that ..even went to head doc to rule out other possible issues and well in the end i still had the problem ..i need to learn to control it...so it dont affect me as much...but thats why i am here to learn ...awsome bunch of people around here...they willl help...
hugs to you blessed be

I have to avoid crowds as I have not yet learned to shut off my empathetic side when in one. The ambient loud noise of many voices hurts my ears horribly, and I get very nausious. I feel as though I'm taking on everyones feelings at once and it confuses me, and makes me rather ill. I even have a hard time working because of it. I can feel what everyone else feels around me. I begin to feel icky and just want to lay down. Then if I do, I begin to dream, and they are not pleasant because I believe negative thoughts are more powerful than thoughtfull ones and that's what stays with me, and I dream about. So i understand what you are saying about crowds, and I'm the exact same way with my hubby, and 90% of his days he doesn't feel well, so i don't feel well.

I agree with the others here that state it's important to learn how to "turn it on and off" when it comes to being able to feel the emotions/pains, etc. of others. I also agree that the best way to learn how to do this is through classes. Having said that, it is quite nice to open yourself up when you're around a positive energy, for me, it's almost like a healing.
If I sense negativity, I just put my own shield up so to speak as there is no room in my life for that. |
