The title may sound a bit silly but I need to know, I have been experiencing some very strange smells lately, the first was at around 3am (insomiac) a few nights ago, I went downstairs to get a drink and at the bottom of the stairs and nowhere else was a very strong smell of cigar smoke, I dont allow smoking in my house, cant stand the smell and cigar smoke is the worst of all of them, I was also alone in the house. The second time was mid-day today, sat in my room on my laptop I could smell candles burning, plain not scented, I have candles all over the house but have not had them burning for at least a week, besides, the only place I could smell it was in my room where I never burn candles anyway.

I have just completed my level one Reiki attunement course so I dont know if that has any relevence, I do have a spirit with me, my grandfather who has been with me from a very early age, this has been proven to me on numerous occasions so I have no doubts about that now, I didnt understand what or who it was though until I was in my early twenties.

Im not a psychic but am aware of spirits around me, i have moved house quite a few times in my lifetime, some homes I dont feel very comfortable or settled in as if im not alone in the house, others such as the one im in now, I feel calm and very at ease with. Im also a firm believer in fate.

So back to the question, do spirits have their own smell, is that what these unexplained smells were?

I always know when my Pop is about because I can smell toast, it was the only thing he could make !Not long after he died, my house smelt of sawdust , a smell I always associated with him and my childhood, he was a forester by trade and always smelt the same x So in my opinion, yes they do, but I don't know a lot so could be wrong

Thanks Antigany, I was thinking along those lines but I can honestly say I dont know of anyone who smoked cigars, but ill check with my sisters anyway

I believe that a ghost will have a smell sometimes.. thats how we know who it is... about two monthes ago I kept smelling cig smoke.. as I quit smoking over three years ago and dont alllow it in the house now..I didnt know where it came from... But as I smelled it I got a hugh feeling to do a search of my family .So I got online and started to search.. I found my Aunt and found out that I also have a sister and 3 nieces and one on the way now... seeing as I didnt have any nieces or nephews ..That was a great feeling.. I asked my aunt about it and she told me that my greatmother(her mother) smoked like a train... I did no my greatmother but not very well and she died when I was only 10 . So yes I think a ghost will have a smell... Iv also asked this same thing on another tread..lol
