My belief or explanation is that God would have to exist outside of time , in order to be eternal, time has no relevance.
I would imagine God views us as if everything has already happened , so it would be similar to us reading a diary, but from Gods point of view it would be a diary of everybody and every moment. Thats one of my theories, not perfect , i know. |

Okay lets put it this way how did the big bang happen? Where the the first matter or energy need for the big bang come from? Human minds function in a way that we always expect and start and an end. The fact is it is perfectly conceivable that something has existed for an infinity it's just that our minds can't get round that stumbling block. So can't we just conclude that the creator never was created? That god has always been there! I mean no matter if you look at it from a science view point or a religious view point there has always been something which has always been there.

I believe in a high power.... that which is the center of our being and that which leads us if we listen. Does this being come from heaven (idk) does this being have a son that was once flesh one earth (idk) - but what I do know is that I feel its presence and that I will return to my place of being when I, this human bodily form, pass away.

God comes from a dimension (spiritual world) where the concept of time does not exist, which, for humans, is very difficult to understand. There is no time. The concept of time is only applicable in our (material) dimension. Therefore God was never born or created, He just is. “That man is made in His image” refers to the fact that the spirit or souls of humans are made in His image, not our physical bodies. We are all divine beings, just like God intended when he “made man in his image”.

I have this conversation all the time with my son who is an atheist. (I am not an atheist.) While it is a wonderful topic for debate, the two of us have basically come to the conclusion to agree to disagree! He believes there is NO God, or that there is no PROOF of God. I have my own belief as to what I perceive God to be. (and find what I call enough proof for me in my own ways.) However, when it comes right down to it, I suppose none of us will ever know for sure until the day we ourselves enter into the spirit realm and find the truths (and proof) that I believe we aren't capable of in human form to know.
My son has his favorite saying "I'm not going to die, I'm going to see if I was ever alive." I on the other hand just feel it to be of great importance to just live each day sharing the love of your spirit with others. If that is considered "Godlike", then so be it. (Not for being in fear of heaven or hell, just to help make our world a better place to live!) Simple as that, knowing all too well that our time in eternal life will come soon enough. It is just my belief that we are spirit here on borrowed time in our human body shells and in the process of one of the many lessons our spirit will embark upon during its eternal life cycle. I suppose the questions of who is God, what is God, where did God come from are sort of a mute point to me as I know that when the time comes that my inner spirit is capable of receiving that knowledge and proof, it will. Until then, I will take "my" beliefs and continue to use them to make my short time here on the earth plane a happy and loving one. In short, I guess whatever works for oneself to be happy is all that matters. |

Everyone here seems to have thought about this in some depth. I guess it is one of those questions that just requires an answer. It doesn't have to be right, but the individual needs to be able to believe it.
There's a book entitled The Greatest Deception; the bible UFO connection, by Patrick Cooke. It doesn't answer where God came from in the first place, but it explains how all the things in the bible are documented evidence of alien encounters. I loved the book so much that I had to have a print copy, in case something ever happened to the website. The book was well researched and specific about how all the vague-sounding stuff in the bible is related to stuff the aliens did. There's one verse in the bible, I don't remember it exactly, but it says that our lives happen in the blink of God's eye. This book explained how that means that this time that we live in so briefly is something created by God, but the way we perceive time isn't real. Okay, so I believe in all that stuff in the book, but it still doesn't answer the question of where God/aliens came from in the first place. I think they did evolve from some sort of dust cloud or bacteria or something, and they've existed for so long that they are a highly advanced society of beings...These beings may have been reproducing asexually. Then, they came to earth, and they found that other creatures were living and evolving there. These asexually reproducing creatures found something interesting on earth, and it was that the creatures were reproducing sexually. So, the aliens made man in their image, but not an exact copy. The creature that they created had to be fit for conditions on planet earth. Then, the aliens made a woman. Woman was created to be more beautiful and more pleasurable. Anyways, that's my 3 cents.
