Do you believe in god? That he made the world we live in?
While I ponder in whether I believe in god - that man is made in His image - I always come back to the same thought..... Where exactly did God come from in the first place? What are your theories? |

This is a very interesting subject...and one that I'm sure has been asked many many times. I don't know that we will ever find an answer that will satisfy everyone, but I think this is one that needs to be answered from within. Personally, I think that God has always been. I know this is a hard concept to understand, especially with a finite mind. It's really hard not to think of a beginning and an end, but I do "feel" that this is the right answer for me.

from what i remember from religous education and other sources, god is eternal and never was created. he always has been there and always will be there. but as the previous poster said it is hard for our minds to think of something always being there but theres is an easy shortcut to help you realise the possibility of eternity and that is the fact that space has been there forever and will be there forever. there is one thought that has always entered my mind though, if he created us in his image then why are we as we are? this is about to get confusing so bare with me, most of the things we have eyes, ears, nose, arms, legs, lungs, mouth, etc would all be unnecessary to god if he were eternal and he created everything because he wouldn't need to see, hear, smell, touch, walk, breathe or taste as there was nothing there for a whole lot of eternity so nothing for hhim to do any of the previously mentioned activities with, so if we were created in his image why do we have all these things that he wouldn't of had.

I had another insight that I thought i would share concerning the statement that we are "created in Gods image" Do you think that its possible that this was meant figuratively? If you think about it...we are creators in our own right, and we are a limitless beings are we not? Perhaps that is what is meant by that statement...instead of the physical aspect. I must admit it is easier to think of God in terms of the physical because its easier for our mind to hold this image, but I tend to believe that we took these body forms out of necessity to percieve the 3 dimensional world.
Im not so sure we did such a bang up job with its design, LOL, but I do think if we lived as intended, things would be so much easier, and our bodies wouldnt give us as many problems as they do now....but thats another subject. love and light kats xxx |

have allso had this type converstaion with many peoples and can get quiet deep lol
I personaly belive firstly that god meaning is man made alable thats used to understand a greater force at work and for use to understand the concept of agreater power. first orignis is back when men and woman prayed and payed hommage to gods and godesses. now that orathadox took over the rains and belive that ther is one creater god force and it is the image and the concept of these many religions have created this imague being a male figure. like we call earth perceuved as a mother figure as well as the moon being female , this being so moon cycle is 28 days as so is womans and earth being that of giving birth to new life. I feel that and belive that this god force is a conshouseness with great thoughts and energy and is capable of any thing, but choices to sit on the fence, who encourages the univers to unnfold it self. I have heard some peoples use this energy as perfection. I dont belive that this force has no gender neaither male nor female. I think we are made as we are as part of the evilution of this earth and being created in gods image, what if we are just created to be what we are and what ever we will be. I think god is what ever we choice it to be as it is one of the many facets of this greater force. this still keeps me pondering peraps one day we all will get to the truer meaning it is like asking the question what is life ? and what came first the chicken or the egg ? LOL love squizzyxx |

Ahh but who made the mind? And the spirits? And everything else.
EVERYTHING has a beginning and an end, its a life circle, as in many Indian religions who believe in reincarnation, which keeps the circle going. Now with that said, where did God come from, he had to be made to be there, time began at one point and will continue to tick away, is God reincarnated? When faith becomes strong does God slowly disappear, only for him to be reborn when the faith is non-existant. Was God born with the big bang? As a sentient being? Or is God a kid on a computer in another dimension, controlling our universe with a computer game, and failing miserably with our planet? One thing is for sure, we will never know in our present forms and never will |

Maybe God is the ultimate Energy Source of the Universe,That never begins and never ends,
Just always there;and we are a big part of that DNA structure. |

A lot of people still seem to be basing their ideas on ancient religious texts which have little relevance today. Such as the idea that God created Man in His own image. No, humans created God in our own image - as someone in this discussion said, as an old man with a beard sitting on a throne on a cloud.
Perceptively, several correspondents have mentioned eternity. It is quite obvious to me that everything is eternal. If something exists now, it must always have existed in some form or other, and always will. Something can't come out of nothing. This applies equally to the idea of God creating itself (please let's get away from this him/her terminology, it is nonsense when talking about the Great Spirit/God) and to the idea that at the time of the Big Bang the whole universe was created out of nothing. I believe that what some people call 'God' is constantly evolving. I prefer the terms Great Spirit or Unified Conscious Energy Field. We all have an eternal Spirit, Soul, Conscious Energy Field or whatever we like to call it. Our eternal self which survives death, is reincarnated many times, and ultimately, when sufficiently developed, will merge with the Unified Conscious Energy Field also known as the Great Spirit or God. This is how the Great Spirit evolves and develops. I don't believe it created the multi-universe and everything in it. I believe that has always existed in some form or other, possibly as pure energy at one time, and has also evolved. But we must be careful again of terminology. Eternity only really has meaning if we accept the reality of Time. But Time appears to be an illusion of our present Time-Space Continuum, Einstein's fourth dimension. So if Time doesn't really exist outside our present state in this Universe, then terms such as 'beginning', 'end' or even 'eternity' have little meaning. All we know for certain is that we exist, and from the messages from Spirit, etc. we gather that we and everything else is constantly evolving or striving to evolve and reach the higher spiritual planes/more developed alternative dimensions. Please let's not get bogged down in ancient, irrelevant terminology and ideas about God creating Man in His own image, it is absolute nonsense. Religious claptrap which we should have grown out of long ago. |
