I've heard Deja Vu described in two different ways. One is when you go somewhere you've never been and are familiar with the place, even to the point of knowing what is ahead at the next curve in the road. To me, this could possibly be a memory from a past life. Another theory is that we carry genetic memories of our ancestors.
The other kind of Deja Vu (French for "Already Seen") happened to me only once. I was standing in my daughter's classroom at a party talking to the teacher and other mothers and suddenly I had this really weird feeling that I'd already done this. I felt like this exact conversation and all the events around me had already taken place. The feeling lasted for about a minute and it was sort of frightening. I kept thinking about it and of course, it wasn't a memory from a past life. I have to agree with the post from Mr Harrison that we must dream things that are going to happen in the future and when deja vu happens we are remembering that dream. Another explanation could be that when we feel deja vu we are tapping into our spiritual self who already knows everything that is going to happen in our lives, and that spiritual self is saying " I remember this". It would be sort of like lucid dreaming where you realize in your dream that you're dreaming. In this case, your spirit has stepped outside your body and is on some other plane thinking oh, now this event is happening, I know about this already. My brother told me an explanation he read for deja vu is that the circuitry of your brain sometimes loops sort of like a tape loop. It is processing information very quickly twice so that you feel like the event taking place is already a memory. I don't think that deja vu experiences would be considered a warning. By the way, does anyone ever use the expression Vu ja de when they mean "Been there, done that already"? haha |

In some cases(usually life or death) yes it could be a warning! You should always pay attention to what your mind is telling you... it could mean something significant!

deju vu for me is very rare. I would say I have that experience maybe twice a year tops.
its always that feeling that I've been in the same situation before, with the same people, saying the same things, etc etc. but sometimes I think to myself, whoa I think I dreamt about this before. and the moment is fleeting. I like to believe that this is our spirit's way of telling us we are on the right path.. b/c I do believe we have markers thru out our lives to let us know we are where we are supposed to be in life at that given moment. |

ive concluded that deja vu is actually a sign that you are exactly where you are supposed to be, and the reason it doesnt always play out like it seems it would is do to small varients in our every day decisions.remember theres always more than one way to get to wherever you are in life.

I had a case of de ja Vou just the other day I was sitting in my lounge talking and laughing with some old childhood friends I have recently been seeing again when I got the distint feeling I had been there with them laughing about the same thing before. Im not sure what de ja vou is but I dont believe it is a warning but I love the feeling I get from it. I love to know what it really is though as its such a weird thing.
Or as the film qoute said: "De Ja Vou is when something has been changed in the matrix" lol |

I get deja vu's as a "warning" of a life changing event usually 2-3 weeks before the event occurs. Are there others like me or anyone whom has information or opinions to offer :?:

I'm a strange mix of person or maybe I'm just like you. I am the ultimate skeptic yet I still feel that there are some REAL events and sensations that can only be supernatural or spirit related. I've thought alot about deja vu and discussed it at length with my friends who like to help me solve the riddle of the creation. I/we think deja vu could be a sort of cognitive misfile. I am wondering if there is a mechanism in your brain for processing events and remembering them and sometimes maybe because deja vu tends to happen "about" very average events, maybe your brain mistakes what is happening for an event that already happened, causing the temporary sense of confusion because your brain isn't in the "right" groove.
I know that still doesn't really address why you still feel that you KNOW what is about to happen and feel like you are watching a familiar movie. So I can't decide if the sensation is due to the error happening in your perception or if maybe there is more than one kind of deja vu. Maybe there are some that are more like lucid dreaming while awake. I know I've have a few occasions of very long spells of deja vu (minutes) or where it keeps happening all day. |

deja vu is simply the occurence when the eye sees or the ear hears something a split second before the other. It tricks the brain into thinking the event or situation has happened before (which, technically, it has - but only by a split second

the odd thing about this deja vu (and yes, i've been deja vu'd a couple of times in my 22 years of life) is when something out of of your ordinary life happens, it makes you feel you've been there, but the fact is YOU'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YOUR LIFE..
It really puzzles me... It could really be some form of time lapse imo... |
