Cross Correspondence ? is this the final proof of life after death?

One of the most watertight cases for the proof of life after death are called the Cross Correspondence. In 1904 a medium called Mrs Verall 'received' a script containing the words 'record the bits and when fitted together they will make the whole'. Soon afterward three other mediums from around the world received communications from the spirits of three dead SPR researchers named Frederick Myres, Henry Sidgwick and Edmund Gurney. When the fragments of information received via the mediums was brought together over a period of four years it was found to give a detailed message that took them to the tomb of the Medicis in the church of San Lorenzo in Florence.

Do you think the Cross Correspondence is the final proof for life after death or is the case in some way flawed?

I think there will forever be flaws found in some ( not all ) evidence presented of spirit correspondance but when weighing up the facts of some of the better cases reported this makes for wonderful evidence .. this along with the drop in communicators are very hard to disprove

Sadly, in the 'Earth World', ignorance, scepticism and fear will always exist, so I doubt there will ever be final proof of life after death until we pass and see it for ourselves. Of course this is also an individual thing...to some the Cross Correspondence case is their final proof, for others it may take less or more evidence etc..but I believe there will always be those who will not accept any proof at all.

The problem is that mediums as a general rule refuse to be tested, citing all sorts of reasons why they cant, dont want to etc.

To prove mediumship is insanely easy, yet in well over 100 years of proper scientific study, no one has ever proven a single thing.

Unless I am reading your post wrongly, (and if I am please forgive me) you are making some very sweeping statements which you cannot prove!

Please do not undermine the work of mediums; mediums give evidence and whether or not that constitutes proof is up to the individual receiving that evidence but when you have sat and watched materialisation, transfiguration, have heard direct and independent voice as well as having your own individual spiritual experiences, then you will probably think twice about your statements

Well; to me that's not definitive proof - although it's very intriging isn't it...

Until modern science declares "There is Life after death and this is the mechanism that proves it is so." There will always be doubt.

But then; when you really think about it - Science often changes as we open new ways to understand old problems - so old truths become yesterdays news and fish and chip wrappers; lol.

Einstine simply died too soon. He was beginning to look into ways to ask that age old question and find answers.

May it never will be proven in a material sense to everyone. May it will always remain a matter of faith because blind faith is necessary with regard to soul growth. You have to believe to give you courage to live.

Yeah, true, ...but Einstein has been back, ....along with Thomas Edison, Sir William Crooks, Arthur Conan Doyle, and a whole other pile of eminent researchers bringing some pretty convinicing evidence with them

I don't believe coz of blind faith, ...I'm an evidence kinda girl ..lol. It just depends what evidence we get presented, and what we can accept as genuine. :wink:

I do agree with you - but that's from the spirit side of life - many people on earth want it from people on this side of life; that they can see and feel and hear for themselves - if you know what I mean.

We Mediums are often priviledged to have such communications AND have it proved to us - proving in material science is rather more tricky.

A lot of people in the Medical profession are having a re-think however; after so many of their patients come back from near death experience to tell them exactly what was being done or said whilst bringing them back from the brink so to speak. Many believe their is another energy yet to be understood; but how do you search for it in a material sense; its such a delicate elusive thing.

So who knows....Spirit tell me it will be proved one day........It would be nice if they could bring forward more cures for devistating illnesses though wouldn't it. Even though I do know they impress specialists toward such and it takes dozens of years to achieve sadly. The easing of suffering is more important I think.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a telephone link to spirit - I personally believe that sort of would be possible in a special way not literally of course; as I hear spirit more than see them. But conversation is not as fluid as it would be between us of course. It's given in snippets and short sentances that you hope are very direct.

Ye I agree; lol.

I think the scientists don't take it seriously enough; but that's why people fought to get Spiritualisum recognised and respected and taken more seriously at least as a religion in the beginning. Science asks for answers but so do we; we all want to know the truth don't we.

The first Philosophers sorted stuff out by discussion; so may be that's what we are doing in sites like this one. Talking out the possibilities of life after death; forming the right questions to ask to find plusable truths; I'd suppose.

Check out the book The Ghost at 29 Megacycles by John S Fuller. George Meek built a spiricom which was a radio which tuned into spirit. Well worth a read.
