Hello,
I've been wondering a long time if ghosts can hurt you. The idea really scares me. I've never searched contact with ghosts, but is it possible that suddenly an angry ghost crosses your path and takes his/her anger out on you ? Or have I been watching too many Japanese horror-movies to think this ?

It's really worrying me for years this idea, as long as I can remember really.

Spirits can mentally and emotionally affect you, but only if you allow them to. As a general rule they do not have the means to physically affect you as they live in the spirit world - not to mention our loved one's in spirit are watching our backs and would bend over backwards to make sure nothing or no one ever harmed us. As one of my guide's once said, "we can protect you from everything, but yourself". So simply know in your mind that loving spirits would never let you be harmed, and you have nothing to worry about. I love horror movies myself, especially the creepy Japanese one's, ... but know that they are just entertainment with no basis in reality.

one time when I was little me and my mom went into the kitchen to get something to eat and when we walked out the kitchen my mom screamed my name and she told me to look at my leg (forgot which one)and when I did I had a fresh cut on it (and it was bleeding really bad)
and that cut wasn't there when I walked into the kitchen and there was nosharp objects sticking out and I didn't scrape against anything

Ghosts are not people and do not have intelligence; they are psychic imprints left on the ether. Like an old record which is continually playing while the people or person who made the recording is miles away and with ghosts, the original people are now in spirit

So no Ghosts cannot hurt you they neither have the wit nor the wherewithal to do so.

Thank you for replying. I can see you know a lot about ghosts and the spirit world. You also answered my other question, which helped me a lot.
I was wondering, can you advice me about what to read ? Where did you learn about all this ? There is so much information on the internet, but not everything is right.

Hi Pucca

The knowledge I have gained comes from study and from experience. I live in the Uk and many years ago I joined the Spiritualists' National Union (SNU), which is the largest Spiritualist organisation in the UK, if not the world. While I was working in an SNU Church as a Committee Member, and sitting for my development, I started studying the SNU education courses, sitting examinations and being assessed by my peers. I did this to acquire knowledge for my own use (as I needed to understand so many things). After sitting for development for 8 yrs I was then allowed on the Church rostrum but I continued with development and do so to this day; I also continued with my studies and have been teaching Spiritualism and training mediums for over 20 years now from which I probably learn more than the students.

It is difficult to recommend books as it depends on what you are actually looking for:

Books on mediums experiences are very interesting to non mediums or Spiritualists but will not teach you anything;

There are books where mediums were investigted scientifically and historical books on Spiritualism and mediumship

I like the books of John G Fuller, who investigated various mediums and spirit related matters, and the evidence he found for spirit is amazing and is not biased

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (an Honorary President in Spirit of the SNU) wrote The History of Spiritualism in two volumes which is excellent.

The first book I ever read when I came into Spiritualism was called This is Spiritualism and was written by Maurice Barbanell who was the medium for the beautiful spirit guide, Silver Birch. There are also many books by Silver Birch which you will love.

A contemporary writer is Prof David Fontana who is an ex President of the SPR who has a new book which came out this May and is called Life After Death.

There are also the books of Craig Hamilton-Parker, the owner of this webiste which are well worth a read.

sybil to me it seems your only seeing and hearing and reading what you want and believing what you want your not seeing that people actually see ghost and feel them.i think you need to open a little bit more to the other side of the whole ghost thing...............

Beckie I wish I could fall into the category you have assumed for me but I am afraid I cannot do so. There is nothing to be open about on ghosts; they are psychic imprints left on the atmosphere and there is too much evidence regarding this for it to be ignored just because you, or others, wish to go ghostbusting. Most people confuse ghosts and spirit who are people and who live in the spirit world and do not float around in our world as much as people would like to believe. You can communicate with spirit you cannot communicate with ghosts cos they are just action replays continually running until the energy dissipates.

Spirit, the Spirit World and Spiritualism are factually based, they are not open to people's opinions. Whilst we cannot know everything about them, there is sufficient information which has been received and recorded over the years by investigative journalists, scientists as well as spirit guides and mediums which is available for the serious students of spirit.

There are study courses on this site and in the Spiritualists' National Union which is the largest Spiritualist Organisation in the UK; so if you want to learn about spirit, then join a reputable organisation and learn.

If you do not wish to study thats fine, but please dont assume I am close minded because I am trying to help you or anyone else understand the phenomena relating to mediumship and spirit and it is not what you want to hear.

in my opinion you need to read more then what they have at your school.becuase that there is just one persons opinion .therefore i am open to both sides i have read more the one presons opinion.and i hope that one day you will to
