I'm reading this book at the moment and am loving it.
This is the diary of a young Victorian boy, raised in a devoutly Christian home. It was published after his death but he gave permission for his wife to do so, he didn't want his name on it though because he wanted privacy for his parents beliefs, values. From a small child he could see auras, spirit people etc and conversed with them throughout childhood. He wrote about all of his experiences in his diary (then made notes about certain things to clarify before he died) This is so charming, as a young boy of the Victorian era he has much to say about what he 'knew' about life and what everyone else believed. He writes as a child, naive, funny (not sure of age at the beinning, possibly 10/11 ish) - writes alot about the people of the time who were around him - parents, housemaids etc but also writes of messages received from spirit, conversations had, how he could tell what people were really like because of the 'lights' around them. He was a wonderful psychic and empath, eventually pulled from school because of his 'extreme nervous disposition'. He then when on to have a wonderful home tutor, who, after this little boy mentioned things to him about his past, future, and what God really was, developed an interest in spiritulism and helped the boy realise he was gifted, special - not naughty, a liar, weird, mentally disturbed as his parents believed. Through his tutor writing down messages received from his guide, this boy told of great things a child of that era, well, most children, should never have any knowledge of - reincarnation, the soul, the spirit planes etc. I'm only half way through and finding it fascinating and really enjoyable There is no authors name, publishers are the CW Daniel Company Ltd. |

I have had this book for years and just love it - esp the way it is written in the perspective of a child and in such simple terminology - just tells it as he see's it in his chidlike understanding.
IMO - Def one for the bookshelf Nat xxx
