hello everyone
electional astrology a/k/a the astrology of timing has long been a hobby of mine. it's all about selecting the best time to initiate something with the objective of having the most positive outcome possible. the moon is of utmost importance in electional work and she must be strong and unafflicted. this means she should be free from difficult aspects, strong by sign or position and not void-of-course. electional astrology is more difficult than one would think because there are many other factors to consider including the planet ruling the matter of the election. that planet should also be as strong as possible.

just yesterday i found an iphone app about electional astrology. it has many good reviews so if you're interested search astrology in the itunes app store. but if you prefer to learn it on your own the best book i found on this subject is "electional astrology the art of timing" the author is hampar.

another consideration when selecting a good day is the subject matter and the planet ruling that matter. for instance when selecting a marriage date venus - ruler of marriage - is an important consideration. ideally venus, mars and the moon should be well aligned.

timing is everything - right!!!

i used an astrologer to pick my marriage date and it's going on ten years and counting. o.k. compatibility plays a role but i do believe in timing to. have learned a bit about electional astrology and know certain things to avoid. for example the moon is in pisces today so i know some confusion is likely. phoenix i have that book by joann hampar and it's terrific.

indeed an electional astrologer is the best way to go when you need an important date such as a marriage date or a date to launch your business. however i found something interesting that i think can be very useful for everyone. it is called 2009 electional astrology planning guide and it is an app for your iphone or ipod touch. the description in the itunes app store is quite extensive and it has a high rating. it gives daily forecasts based on electional astrology and defines the quality of each day in the year. it also shows the moon's daily aspects, when the moon is void-of-course and planetary aspects on the screen with the daily guidance. so cool.

hello all

well i purchased the planning guide and it lists tomorrow apr 23 as a good day with the moon in aries making no difficult aspects and the sun in taurus trine pluto. the forecast reads - a determined self-confident attitude works well. everyone is willing to pull together and go the extra mile. new initiatives are favored particularly after the new moon on friday. it also shows the planetary aspects on screen. i think this is very well written and can be helpful to many. take a peek and let us know what you think.

someone recently said to me "electional astrology is about selecting a specific date and time to do something" and that is true. a professional astrologer will prepare an election chart for marriage, to purchase a home, start a business etc. but few people realize that electional astrology can also be used to identify the quality of each day in the year. it examines the moon in relation to the planets, as well as the planets in relation to each other for each day in the year. for example when the moon and planets are well aligned on any particular day it is categorized as a 'good day' and the outcome of whatever is initiated has a good chance for success. however when the moon and planets are in difficult alignment it is categorized as a 'challenging day' making it more difficult to have success with whatever is initiated. if you want to learn a bit more about this branch of astrology a good book is "electional astrology the art of timing" - the author is j hampar.

the iphone app i mentioned uses this branch of astrology and in my opinion is worth it's weight in gold because this kind of information is usually only available to professional astrologers and their clients.

the planning guide app on my iPhone advises that we are coming up on a cycle that occurs three times a year. it is mercury retrograde and since the planet mercury has rulership over communication in all forms we can expect certain mixups and misunderstandings during this cycle. mercury is also associated with the signing of documents and agreements and it is recommended that these activities be delayed until mercury is again direct. the cycle lasts for approximately three weeks. the beginning and ending dates are listed as are recommendations as to how to work with this cycle.
