Personally I don't think 9/11 was a government conspiracy or inside job in any way. I don't believe our government would do that to their own people. I think there is a lot of extreme partisan politics going on in this country and hatred of Bush and Republicans that makes people want to believe in a conspiracy when there wasn't one. Sorry, I don't mean anybody here personally-I'm just saying that there are a lot of people who hate Bush and want to think the worst and it makes it easy for someone to come up with a conspiracy theory.
There REALLY ARE terrorists wanting to harm us but a lot of people want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend that there isn't still a threat. Nobody wants to talk about it and just blow it off like it's too embarrassing to appear paranoid about.
It was such a big dramatic attack that no one believed was possible but it mainly happened because of incompetence on the part of the U.S. govt. not passing information from one department to another and between the FBI and CIA. They had information that an attack was being planned but nobody did anything about it. This goes back to the Clinton Administration. , but I think the government is full of old-school thinkers who thought we had to make a show of power by declaring war on some country after 9/11. The master plan was to take out one middle Eastern country at a time but the American public isn't buying it.

Popular Mechanics did a very comprehensive investigation into many of the myths supporting the conspiracy theories around 9/11. I've investigated (on an amateur level) terrorism around the world for a number of years now and find it alarming that so many people are buying into the quite incomprehensible conspiracy theories that are bounding around at the moment. Simple investigation and a belief in Occam's Razor will show that many 'suspicious' elements of the day, such as the collapsing of the towers, can be easily explained. The firefighters involved on the day knew **** well that those towers would collapse on 9/11; the only surprise was how quickly they collapsed. This was due to many of the metal struts not having fireproofing due to that job being sub-contracted to a company run by the Mafia who, surprise surprise, didn't coat the struts with the fireproofing hence the struts were not up to the job. Easy, isn't it?

The Pentagon attack, many people believe, was caused by a cruise missile. Unfortunately many of these believers failed to query the witnesses such as the gentleman who's van roof was ripped off by the wheels of the plane as it flew feet from the road. Many believers also fail to visit the scene of the crime, unlike my husband who visited Washington on business and was surprised at how easy a task it must have been. His only confusion was why they chose to hijack a plane from an airport other than a local one, which would have made the task far simpler.

Unfortunately believing such fantasies helps the terrorists achieve their aims and gain sympathy. In the UK a recent survey in mosques showed that something like 60% of muslims think 9/11 was a Jewish conspiracy. David Cameron, leader of the conservative party, recently visited a number of mosques and stayed with a muslim family. He was shocked at what he heard in mosques, particularly around 9/11, and how muslim communities failed to acknowledge that 9/11 and other such atrocities were being carried out by fanatical muslims.

I find blind belief in anything anyone says, whether it's Government, media or conspiracy theorists worrying, and where people have died horrifically I find it personally insulting. Alex Jones, a famous US conspiracist, says that the London 7/7 tube bombings were carried out by the Government and that the 4 terrorists who carried out the suicide bombings were patsies. I find this to be extremely dangerous talk because it's failing to acknowledge the very real fanatical underworld that has been allowed to grow in the UK and the threat it poses. Alex Jones should be investigating that instead, and why the UK Government, since the days of Thatcher, has allowed hundreds of wanted terrorists from around the world to settle and continue to spread their message of hate openly. Governments may not want to blow their own people up but it seems they're happy to allow others to settle here and do it. Why don't conspiracy theorists investigate that instead?

Wow!! This certainly is an eye opener!! I must say after watching that, all the evidence suggests that it could well indeed have been planned by the U.S government. It makes you wonder what else they have planned or kept from the nations!?!

I've visited the twin towers when i was about 7, a couple months before the attack. The inside was hung with flags of all countrys and i still have a teddy bear that says something like the year and twin towers on it.
The government wouldn't send thousands to millions of billions of dollars to build up two towers. And then drive one of their own planes into it? Does that make since? No not at all.


And then, they build another in the same exact spot?

Take your heads out of the sand, there terrorist. And if you dont want to believe it, when there's a bomb dropped in your backyard dont say the government did it.

Seriously, any of the things these conspiricy theorists say can be forged and faked. The reason people believe them is because they are susceptible to commonly known mind control. I know what you're thinking. Mind control, you must be crazy! But what I'm talking about is really more of a subliminal effect. The conspiricy theorists will make videos where they never use the word maybe, they say things as if they must be right. Add music that sends your mind into a mode where it will believe anything it hears even if it doesn't make fundamental sense.

You notice that many of these people have information that they cannot possibly have. They use technical terms and twist things up so much that people instinctively think they're right.

I'm not bashing conspiricy theories all-together. There may be a few that are accurate, but unfortunately this kind of media type of conspiricy theory is not my style. Show me proof that isn't shrouded by a conspiricy tone of voice, doubting music, and highlighted sections of papers (most of which no one even knows where they come from). If you can show me something like that, other than "the builders decided to go the ******* route" bull I keep hearing. There would be no point in building a building that large and important with the intention of destroying it. It's possible it was chosen to destroy by Someone because of the cheap building, but I seriously doubt the government would be so sloppy as to make it readily available to public conspiricy theorists.

Just think for a moment people. If you were a terrorist planning to take out some important buildings and happened to learn that a VERY important one was built with some flaws in the design where someone didn't install fireproof parts, wouldn't you target it? Terrorists aren't stupid. They're not 10 year olds bent on breaking your toys, they are grown men hell bent on destroying what they believe is wrong. They will obviously think about what they're going to sacrifice their life for.

Well there is some evidence that cannot be explained, for example what was burning inside the building that was hot enough to make the metal core of the building into molten metal, jet fuel does not burn hot enough to do this which suggests there must have been another type of fuel for the fire, possibly even a type of explosive, as the buildings collapsed there is no longer a way of telling what caused it.

It's a little doubtful that the U.S Government would devise such an inhumane act, although I do wonder about the military drill which was exactly the same scenario on that exact day when there was others to choose, it could be coincidence or perhaps the terrorist group that hijacked the planes could have a man on the inside of the U.S Military, they don't have to be too far up the chain of command to gain access to that information.

I do think there is more to it than we have been told, there is evidence to point the blame either way.

To answer the first question there, it has been proven that the fireproofing on the beams were faulty and that it was the regular fires from the building that took it down and not the jet flames. All it took was time.
