I was 5 years old and had just got out of the hospital, being as young as I was I didn't know much. I wasn't feeling good the first night coming back from the hospital so after I got put to bed, I got up and went downstairs, climbed on the kitchen counter, & drank the whole bottle of liquid tyneol. All proud of myself thinking it would make me feel better, that I took my own meds (probably thinking "i'm a big girl") I took it upstairs and showed my mom and dad saying all happy "look mommy! I took my medicine!" and I remember seeing her gasp and freak out, I remember getting confused like 'huh' and then I don't remember anything (asuming I passed out). I remember waking up a bit to see the two hospital doors opening (the automatic ones) and then my eyes shut on me again, eyes opened saw tubes all around me and they shut again. I remember seeing myself on a table with people with white coats on all around me, saw the tubes in my nose and mouth. I also remember a white light but I don't remember at what point I saw it, I was so young I just remember a few things from the whole situation. Also this was back when there was no child locks on medication bottles. I'm so glad they made the child locks on them now because to see another kid go through what I went through it'd be so heartbreaking.

My Aunt was the one who told me what happened (only a few years ago too and i'm 24 now). She said, "you were considered the sickest kid in the hospital, they had a helicopter on and ready on top of the roof for you. You had drank too much of this one ingrident that it was a very slim chance of you living. You were strapped on a board like jesus on a cross, you were so little it made us all cry. They were going to fly you to a childrens hospital if they find that you were going to die, and if you lived you would stay at the current hospital. We got very lucky that you made it through, you drank more than half the bottle of liquid tyneol."

Interesting you were only told about it later in your life - but it was quite harrowing (for all concerned), so kind of understandable.

I don't know alot about 'out of body' experiences - but to me, sounds like it was one (or, your memory of the incident)

You were very, very lucky eternalstar, glad you're able to tell the tale! You obviously did have an obe, the fact that you remember it so clearly shows what an impression it made on you.

My sister got knocked down with a car once and saw herself lying there and noticing that her shoe had come off.

I find this story rather interesting for several reasons..... number one.. there is no sedative in Tylenol so the fact that you stated you were passing out and coming back to consciousness would be difficult.. that is not a common side effect with Tylenol. Number two...you would have been very awake for the Doctors to test you for liver toxicity from the Tylenol. They would have had to measure the milligrams of the Tylenol to the kilograms of your body weight to find out what the toxicity level was. Then you would have been given an Antidote for the Tylenol ingested. All this would have been with you being very awake and very aware of everything around you.. again there is no sedative in Tylenol.

Now being that you were only 5...I am sure it would be difficult for you to remember all accounts of this situation. But I am having a very difficult time figuring out why you had an OBE due to Tylenol in-gestation.. that part doesn't make any medical logical sense to me.

I have to say I agree with annie. My son drank over a half a bottle of liquid tylenol when he was about 3yrs old. I took him to the hospital, they ran some tests, they did find lots of tylenol however said he would be fine and wouldn't have any aches for a while lol. so the only thing i can figure is that maybe it was tylenol with codeine or something? or something else all together?
