Saw 'De-coding the past' episode on this only last night.It's not necessarily the end of the world but a start of a new beginning but alot of people may be forced into their astral state then.Astrologers(who the Mayan people were) were bang on about the astrological line up.Our sun is the centre of the Milky Way(I think they said).It only takes place about every 28,000 years and modern day astrologers agree on this and say it will have an effect on the Earth because of the pull of the other planets but they're not sure to what extent.They said it's very likely the planet will shift it's magnetic fields .They're not sure if it'll take a matter of years or hours but it'll cause all kinds of disasters on Earth.Any one place can just plummidge into Arctic conditions.The Scientists have already said we're due for an Ice age at any time.Everything seems to be coming together but this time science is involved too.
No point worrying,there's not alot anybody can do about it.I consider myself lucky to see this time in history,even if I do die.I reckon more and more people will experience pemonitions building up to it.Look at how many people had premonitions leading up to Sept 11th,me included.Just been trying to give you the link but it won't go through.You may want to check out 'September 11th global consciousness' under google out of interest.

Yeah just like Melly said, science is involved this time around. But It?s interesting to with all the prophecy and the Mayan calendar for that matter. Another interesting piece of evidence/coincidence is the I Ching, Take a look at this below from another website:

It struck them that 6 x 64 = 384, which is exceptionally close to the number of days in 13 lunar months (29.5306 x 13 = 383.897, and that maybe the I Ching was originally an ancient Chinese calendar. The McKenna brothers arrived at the 2012 end date by using fractals. Starting from a table of differences between one hexagram and the next, they developed a Mandelbrot fractal in which each level is 64 times greater then the one below it. They then laid this fractal pattern on top of a time scale. The peaks and troughs of the pattern relate to the level of connectedness or novelty in any span of time, whether it covers a day, millennia or even since the beginning of time. By matching the levels of the pattern with key periods in history, they determined it would fit best if the end of the time scale was December 22, 2012. This is the only point in which the level of novelty reaches its maximum, and everything that happens is new. Change feeds upon itself like nano-machines converting every atom in the universe into gold

To have 2 major clear and concise and not to mention respected artefacts such as the Mayan calendar and the I Ching is un paralled to any other major world event. Coincidence? You decide.

certainly there's no way to be certain. You see, it could be because he was looking for an end-date of such that he managed to find one. The research seems to be biased towards that single date. All that person says is that it is the most likely date, based on a system that for all we know, is not fully understood.

If there's one thing I've seen a lot, it's people who can tell a story or present research to make it seem like there is no other answer. Sure, if you inquire, they will say that the information was readily available and that you misunderstood, but the simple fact is, they intentionally leave out parts of the research they do by telling you their methods and what result they liked. All the failures and secondary answers are unimportant to them, as long as it makes it believable.

So, unless I actually get a research log or data accurately representing these fractals that point to the specified 2012, december 22 date, I fail to see how this is a reliable source.

hey little halo, the celestine prophecy is all about insights and reaching a higher level of conciousness there are 10 insights into life and im just about to start the 10th. it has'nt said that the world will end in this book however the mayans did claim the world would end in 2012 and the celestine prophecys were writen by the mayans who strangly dissapeared off the face of the earth without a trace and its belived they reached such a high level of conciousness they dissapeard into space..??!!! who know's.. but its a brilliant read and very addictive if u get the chance u should read then tell all your friends about it and get them to read u'll understand this when u have read it. .
